Geeta (Japanese:オモダカOmodaka) is the chairwoman of thePokémon League inPaldea, as well as the chairwoman ofNaranjaS/Uva Academy'sV school board. She is Paldea's highest-rankedChampion-levelTrainer, the strongest among the region's Champion-ranked Trainers, and the only character in thegames with theTrainer classTop Champion (Japanese:トップチャンピオンTop Champion). Geeta is widely known across Paldea asLa Primera (Japanese:トップTop), literally Spanish for "The First", a title derived from her positions as Top Champion and chairwoman.
In the core series games
Geeta is depicted as having a caring and wise personality, along with a calm and pragmatic demeanor. She actively supports the growth of Trainers, as shown when she acknowledgesNemona's enthusiasm for battling and her desire for a personal rival, noting that Nemona approaches her battles with the player with a level of seriousness she had not previously shown, even against herself. She also takes particular interest in the player's progression to Champion rank. Geeta further remarks that she is "utterly incapable of holding back when it comes to Pokémon battles".
As Top Champion and chairwoman of the Pokémon League, Geeta oversees Paldea'sGyms and theElite Four. She also performs inspections of the Gyms via battles multiple times a year. Typically, she is the one who battles the Gym Leaders, but after the player becomes aChampion, she will send them to perform the inspections instead. She is a very powerful figure in Paldea's Pokémon League, as evidenced by her personally choosing all of the region'sGym Leaders[2] and, according toRika, using her skill to influence the members of the Elite Four into joining.[3] Additionally, she has instructedKaty to "go soft" during Gym Battles andLarry to use a differenttype for his Elite Four battles, the former because theCortondo Gym is near NaranjaS/UvaV Academy and therefore attracts many novice Trainers. She also has a lot of involvement with NaranjaS/UvaV Academy as the chairwoman of its school board; she states that the academy's entrance hall was redesigned by her and renovated a few years ago, suggesting that is why it is filled with books.[4]
Members of Paldea's Pokémon League have mixed opinions of Geeta; Rika praises her before the player battles her in their Champion Assessment, while several Gym Leaders express discomfort towards her during Gym inspections. Katy expresses dissatisfaction about being unable to battle at her full strength during Gym battles,Tulip says she is "not exactly [Geeta’s] biggest fan",Grusha admits that inspections make him anxious because he fears that he will have nothing left if he does not pass them, andRyme briefly expresses irritation that Geeta sent the player to inspect theMontenevera Gym in her place.
Victory Road
After the player has obtained all eightGym Badges and defeated the Elite Four, they can battle Geeta, the Top Champion of Paldea's Pokémon League, on the building's rooftop. The player emerges as a Champion-ranked Trainer upon victory, while Geeta and the Elite Four members congratulate the player. Upon exiting the building, the player is greeted byNemona, who excitedly asks the player whether they have become a Champion already. She wants to immediately challenge them to battle, but Geeta reminds her that “Champions must be understanding toward their opponents” and advises she let the player rest before finding a more suitable battlefield.
★ Starfall Street ★
Geeta is mentioned, but not seen, in this storyline. After the player successfully completes Operation Starfall and reforms Team Star,Penny confesses to DirectorClavell that she illegally hacked the Pokémon League'sLP management system to reward them. Clavell brings Geeta to the academy to decide on Penny's consequences. However, the two ultimately praise Penny for her technical skills and Geeta recruits her into voluntarily helping her with engineering for the League, inviting Penny to work there after she graduates.
Post-game
After the player's adventure inArea Zero, Clavell and Nemona decide to host a Pokémon battle tournament to test the player's strength as a Champion. Geeta agrees to give the Pokémon League's support in sponsoring the event, but when Nemona invites Geeta to participate, Geeta is initially unable to do so as she is preoccupied by her imminent Gym inspections. The player agrees to do the inspections in Geeta's stead, giving her time to compete in the event, now named theAcademy Ace Tournament, appearing as the player's final opponent when it is held for the first time. She can be battled as a random final opponent in subsequent Academy Ace Tournaments.
The Indigo Disk
After the player becomes Champion of the BB League, Geeta travels toUnova'sBlueberry Academy with Rika to ask the player,Carmine andKieran's assistance in venturing throughArea Zero withBriar. She gives the player theIndigo Disk to access theArea Zero Underdepths before leaving with Rika. Afterwards, Geeta can be invited back to Blueberry Academy as a special coach, where she can berematched with an altered team. She may also interact with other Trainers in theLeague Club Room; in one instance, Geeta, when talking withPoppy, discovers that Poppy is trying to draw a picture of her, which is a nod to Geeta's concept art.[5]

Later, Geeta, Rika,Poppy, andHassel appeared outside theTreasure Eatery to greetLarry. Geeta explained that everyone came to investigate a report the Pokémon League received claiming that Larry attacked some Trainers unprovoked, though noted it was likely false. Larry clarified the Trainers he fought wereTeam Star members harassing anUva Academy student, which he noted was worse than their usual acts of misbehavior. When Geeta mentioned a fake student hired byRaifort to look for thetreasures of ruin, Rika remembered seeing Raifort with Scarlet the night they met and concluded the latter was the fake student in question.
Later,Nemona received a phone call from Geeta, who requested that she come meet with her at theTreasure Eatery. Geeta specified the meeting was for Champion-ranked Trainers only, so Nemona was forced to temporarily split off from traveling with Scarlet.
