Gallade is a white, bipedal,bishōnen-likePokémon. Its lower body consists of rounded hips with strong legs. It has a thin green torso with a sharp red plate going through its chest and back. Its arms resembletonfas with extendable, blade-like elbows, which aresharper than any human-crafted sword and can be enhanced withpsychic energy during combat. Its head resembles a gladiator's helmet with a white face, red eyes, and a teal head crest. It has spikes on the sides of its face.
It is a master of courtesy and swordsmanship capable of predicting its foe's moves, allowing it to strike preemptively. True to Gallade's honorable warrior image, it is just as protective of itsTrainer as its counterpart,Gardevoir, using the blades on its elbows to defend. Gallade is known to be sharply aware of a person's wish for help and seeks out those who need its assistance in battle, fighting savagely with fast and fierce attacks. It is capable of teaching itself swordsmanship at an impressive rate. As shown inPokémon Adventures, Gallade can extend its blades at will to attack opponents from behind. This Pokémon inhabits mountainous areas. As mentioned inPokémon Sleep, Gallade has been observed sleeping in a formal position with one knee up. It is believed that Gallade does this because, even in its sleep, it is preparing to fight and protect both humans and Pokémon at any moment.[1]Iron Valiant shares a resemblance to Gallade and Gardevoir.
As Mega Gallade, its entire body becomes white, save for its head. Red plates emerge from its arms, its blue head crest grows slightly longer, and the spikes on its head are elongated. Gallade's sword-like blades have become serrated with the additional plates, and their slicing power has increased even further. It also gains two cape-like protrusions on its back to increase its defensive capabilities.
When the situation demands it, Mega Gallade can use its psychic power to reshape both arms into blades simultaneously and fight using a dual-wielding style.[2] Its strength and fighting prowess are derived from its bond with its Trainer.
Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon: Team Raider's Gallade returns and will ask the player to send a letter to Roserade. Once it is delivered, he and the rest of Team Raider connect with the player.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Animated Trailer
Gallade may be based on a warriorelf. The single fin on Gallade's head resembles the helmet worn bymurmillo-class Romangladiators, or theCorinthian helmet with a horsehair crest worn by Greekhoplites, but it may also be based on medievalknights. Additionally, its battle stances in various media resemble theen garde position and parries of modernfencing, while the elbow swords themselves have a close resemblance totonfas, wooden bars held against the arm to act as batons and arm guards. The red piece on its chest may represent the heart, alluding to the empathic and protective nature of its evolutionary line mixed withchivalry of a knight. Gallade's militaristic design may referenceSirnight, Gardevoir's original name in Japanese.
Mega Gallade's cape is similar to a superhero cape ormatador or bullfighter's fabric.
