Five Friends' Treasure Hunt (Japanese:５人で探す新しい宝物Search for a New Treasure with Five People) was astory event inPokémon Masters EX. It was focused on thesync pairs Juliana & Koraidon and Florian & Miraidon.
First run
The event first ran from February 17 to March 29, 2025. The "Juliana Master Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Juliana & Koraidon for the duration of the event, and the "Florian Master Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Florian & Miraidon from February 19, 2025 to the end of the event.
In this run, players could earn event points by completing battles. Players received rewards based on the number of points accumulated, includingBattle Points, 5★ Scout Tickets, a 5★ Power-Up,medals, sync orbs for Florian & Miraidon and Juliana & Koraidon, skillgear, and a Strike Move Candy Coin. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day.
The player could battle using Florian & Miraidon or Juliana & Koraidon to obtain +0.6× bonus points; Penny & Sylveon, Arven & Mabosstiff, Nemona & Pawmot, Brendan & Treecko/Grovyle/Sceptile, May & Mudkip/Marshtomp/Swampert, or Wally & Gallade to obtain +0.4× bonus points; and any unlistedPaldea orHoenn sync pairs to obtain +0.2× bonus points.
This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with one or fewer sync pairs fainting and sync pairs with specifictheme skills on the team. Event mission rewards included 5★ Scout Tickets, a 5★ Power-Up, a Tech Move Candy Coin, a Support Move Candy Coin, andGems.
From the beginning of this run to March 20, 2025, a splash screen featuring art of Juliana & Koraidon and Florian & Miraidon was displayed when opening the game.
Second run
The event reran from August 19 to 28, 2025. The "Florian Master Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Florian & Miraidon for the duration of the event, and the "Juliana Master Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Juliana & Koraidon for the duration of the event.
In this run, the sync orbs were replaced with Yellow Skill Feathers, the skill gear was replaced with 4★ Power-Ups, and the Strike Move Candy Coin was changed to a Tech Move Candy Coin. Event missions were changed to award only 5★ Scout Tickets, a 5★ Power-Up, and Gems. Everything else was the same as the previous run.
Third run
The event reran again from August 30 to September 19, 2025 as a bonus event in theTrainer Tales Championship. This run only contained the story areas; the battles and event points did not return. In addition, no missions were available, and no medals could be earned.
Plot
Brendan andWally are in a forest onPasio, looking for a book that Wally lost. Unfortunately, even with the help of Brendan'sLatios, they're unable to find it. Suddenly, a boy in a purple uniform appears with Wally's book in hand. He returns the book and introduces himself asFlorian, a student fromthat big school inPaldea. Wally and Brendan tell Florian aboutPasio Academy and invite him to attend with them, which he happily accepts. Florian reveals that Brendan and Wally are the first people he's met on Pasio, so Brendan stakes his claim as Florian's first friend and offers to introduce him to their other friend. He says they can find her by riding Latios, but Florian says he'll ride his partnerMiraidon instead.
Meanwhile,May and herLatias have been walking through some ruins, and May decides to take a break and feed Latias somePokéblocks. As she's feeding Latias, though, she's suddenly accosted by aKoraidon. Since it seems hungry, she shares some Pokéblocks with it. As Latias and Koraidon are eating, Koraidon's Trainer appears and apologizes for Koraidon eating Latias's snack. She tries to offer Latias a sandwich as compensation, but Koraidon wants a sandwich too. The Trainer introduces herself asJuliana and explains that she traveled around Paldea with Koraidon. May recalls that she met her Latias the same way she met Juliana's Koraidon—approaching her while she was feeding Pokéblocks to other Pokémon—and they laugh at the realization of how similar their Pokémon are.
Suddenly,Nemona,Arven, andPenny arrive—they saw Koraidon in the sky and followed it, hoping it meant Juliana had arrived on Pasio. Nemona wants to get straight into a battle, but Arven and Penny want to catch up with Juliana a little first. As they explain to May how they know Juliana, Brendan, Wally, and Florian arrive. May introduces Brendan and Wally to the others, but she doesn't recognize Florian. Nemona, Arven, and Penny don't recognize Florian either, which shocks Florian initially, but he quickly realizes what's going on. Arven asks if he's a student atNaranja Academy, but Florian says that he's never heard of that school. Thus, he concludes that he's in aparallel universe. He reveals that he arrived here by jumping througha weird ring and explains that he's a student from Uva Academy. He theorizes that Uva Academy and Naranja Academy are the same school, but this just confuses everyone more.
Florian asks Juliana to tell everyone about her journey in Paldea, believing that will illustrate his point. Juliana explains that she moved to Paldea, started attending Naranja Academy, met Koraidon on the beach, and went on a Treasure Hunt. She became friends with Nemona, Arven, and Penny, and they all traveled intoArea Zero together. Florian says that he had basically the same experience in his universe, with the only differences being that he attended Uva Academy and met Miraidon on the beach. So, he thinks he came from a parallel universe—a different Paldea than the others. Arven says that he would be skeptical, but after everything that happened in Area Zero, it doesn't seem so unreasonable. Juliana observes that Koraidon and Miraidon are similar, but she still has trouble wrapping her head around the idea.
Then, Brendan remembersZinnia telling him that there's a differentHoenn than the one he knows, one whereMega Evolution doesn't exist. He realizes that that's the same situation as what Florian is describing, and he thinks there are other people on Pasio who came from slightly different universes. So, he believes that Florian is telling the truth. Juliana agrees, since Koraidon has connections to other worlds, too. She asks Florian if he's scared to be in an unknown world, but Florian reveals that he promised the Nemona, Arven, and Penny in his universe that he'd return once he found a new treasure in this world. He was excited to explore an unknown world, so they sent him off with encouragement. The Arven, Penny, and Nemona from this universe understand how the other versions of them felt, and they promise to have the same relationship with Florian that their counterparts did. Brendan, May, and Wally are happy that they're all getting along, but they remind Juliana and the others that they're friends now, too. Wally suggests that they show Florian and Juliana around the island, so they all go exploring Pasio together. In the end, Juliana, Florian, and the others follow Latias and Latios together in the plains.
