Trivia
- Generation V introduced the most Fire-type Pokémon of any generation, with 17 (includingHeat Rotom andZen Mode Darmanitan), andGeneration IV introduced the fewest, with six (countingArceus using theFlame Plate).
- Generation V introduced the most Fire-type moves of any generation, with 11, andGeneration VI introduced the fewest, with only one,Mystical Fire.
- The Fire type, tied with theDragon type, also has the fewest number of non-damaging moves out of all of the types, with only three.
- Fire was the last type to receive a Pokémon withWater as the other type, only receiving one withVolcanion in Generation VI.
- InPokémon Diamond and Pearl, there are only two evolutionary lines of Fire-type Pokémon in theSinnoh Pokédex (theChimchar andPonyta evolutionary lines). InPokémon Platinum, this was changed with the expansion of the Sinnoh Pokédex to include theHoundour andMagmar families, as well asFlareon.
- In most core series Pokémon games sinceGeneration III, the Fire type has been represented by the color orange. However, in other Pokémon media, including thePokémon Trading Card Game, thePokémon Stadium series, and thePokémon Mystery Dungeon series, the Fire type has been associated with the color red. The Fire type is also associated with the color red inPokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl andPokémon Scarlet and Violet.
- Also, theCool condition uses the same shade of orange in its status screen icon as the Fire type's icon does, despite being described as red in-text.
- According to thePokédex, the hottest Pokémon areMagcargo andCamerupt, both of which can reach internal temperatures of 18,000 °F (10,000 °C). Incidentally, both Pokémon can also have the AbilityMagma Armor.
- Similar toIce-type moves, all Fire-type moves wereBeautiful moves in Generation III.
- Generation II is the only generation to have not introduced a Fire-type specialist.
- The Fire type is able to deal the highest type-based multiplier. This is possible inharsh sunlight against a dual-type, non-Grass-type Pokémon withFluffy whose types are both weak to Fire-type attacks, and that has been affected byForest's Curse andTar Shot. This would result in a 48× multiplier.
- The effects ofFlash Fire andBlaze can further boost this to a 72× power multiplier.
- It can also achieve the lowest non-zero type-based multiplier. This is possible in aninverse battle, duringrain against a dual-type, non-Grass-type Pokémon whose types are both normally weak to Fire-type attacks, withThick Fat,Heatproof, orWater Bubble, that has been affected byForest's Curse, whileWater Sport is in effect. This would result in a ~0.0103× (~1/96) multiplier.
- The Fire-type has been paired with every type exceptFairy.
- This makes it the onlyfirst partner Pokémon type not to have been paired with every other type at least once.
- The Fire type is the only type without a Pokémon in theWater 1 Egg Group.
- Prior to the introduction ofCrispin inThe Indigo Disk, if theplayer choosesFuecoco, noNPC Trainer inPokémon Scarlet and VioletTerastallizes their Pokémon into the Fire type.
