TheFighting type (Japanese:かくとうタイプFighting type) is one of the eighteentypes. Fighting-typemoves are super effective againstDark-,Ice-,Normal-,Rock-, andSteel-typePokémon, while Fighting-type Pokémon are weak toFlying-,Fairy-, andPsychic-type moves.

As ofGeneration IX and the introduction ofGreat Tusk,Pawmo,Pawmot,Iron Hands, andIron Valiant, all other types have been paired up with Fighting at least once, making the Fighting type the seventh type to have this trait afterFlying,Water,Psychic,Dark,Electric andGrass.

Prior tochanges in Generation IV, all damaging Fighting-type moves werephysical, but they may now also bespecial depending on the attack.

APokémon withProtean orLibero will become Fighting-type if it uses a Fighting-typemove. Due to the decreased amount of types in the TCG, the Fighting type generally consists of allRock- andGround-type Pokémon.

Fighting-type Pokémon in the TCG are generally weak toPsychic with no resistances. Fighting-type Pokémon are strong againstColorless,Darkness andLightning Pokémon, whilst someColorless andPsychic Pokémon can resist the Fighting type.
