Basic Fairy Energy (Japanese:基本フェアリーエネルギーBasic Fairy Energy) is aBasic Energy card which provides oneFairy Energy (Fairy). This can be attached toPokémon cards and used to powerattacks with Fairy orColorless Energy requirements.

Release information

English

There have been 32 English prints of the Basic Fairy Energy. The first is the Unnumbered ©2013 print included within theSylveon Collection released on November 15, 2013, the EnglishChespin Deck of theKalos Starter Set, theResilient Life andEnchanted EchoTheme Deck, theXY Elite Trainer Box,Furious Fists Elite Trainer Box,Phantom Forces Elite Trainer Box,Battle Arena Decks: Xerneas vs. Yveltal, and in an Energy Pack available as part of thePlay! Pokémon Professor merchandise when theProfessor Store reopened on September 23, 2014. The second is the print included in theXY expansion. Prints three through fourteen are included in the Sylveon Half Deck of theXY Trainer Kit, due to the Trainer Kit's unique numbering. The fifteenth print is the SheenHolofoil Unnumbered ©2013 print included within Battle Arena Decks: Xerneas vs. Yveltal. Eleven more distinct prints are included in theXY Trainer Kit: Bisharp & Wigglytuff. Two more prints are from theGenerations andEvolutions expansions, respectively. The Evolutions print uses a layout similar to Original Series Basic Energy cards, while the Generations energy features several horizontal bars in the background. Another unnumbered print was introduced with theSun & Moon series in 2017. Later, in theBurning Shadows expansion, another printing was released as asecret card with gold border and sparkles. With theTeam Up expansion came another refresh to basic energy styling and another unnumbered print. In the Sword & Shield series, though the Fairy type was discontinued, a new printing of this card was included in Basic Energy packs in Elite Trainer Boxes. The last product it was included in was theCelebrations Elite Trainer Box.

Japanese

The Basic Fairy Energy was first released in the Chespin Half Decks of both theXY Beginning Set and the XY Beginning Set for Girls. A further print was included in theXerneas & Yveltal Card Box. A special Unnumbered XY-P Promotional print was released as one of nine possible stamped Basic Energy cards included within theLawson Limited Pokémon Coin Set, a product exclusive toLawson stores released December 13, 2013. January 2014 saw the release of Fairy Energy within theXerneas Half Deck featuring the Half Deck's Set Symbol. Fairy Energy was reprinted as aFull ArtSecret card in theBurning Shadows expansion, first released in the JapaneseDarkness that Consumes Light expansion. It was included in the JapaneseTag All Stars subset as another Secret card.

Trivia

  • Due to this card first being released after Basic Energy cards stopped listing illustrator credits in theExpedition Base Set, no print of this card has an illustrator listed.
  • This is the only Basic Energy card to have ever beenrotated out of play, following the retirement of the Fairy type in the TCG.[1]
