TheFairy type (Japanese:フェアリーFairy) is one of the elevenTCG types. It was represented by the color pink and symbolized by two shapes resembling a star and a pair of wings or cupped "healing hands" surrounding it. It may also have been a stylized depiction ofFlorges' leaves orXerneas' antlers.

The Fairy type formerly contained mostFairy-type Pokémon found in the main series video games. For example,Xerneas,Sylveon, andAromatisse were Fairy types in the TCG. Some Pokémon that were classed asColorless types prior to theKalos Starter Set, such asSnubbull, were Fairy types from the Kalos Starter Set toCosmic Eclipse.

The correspondingBasic Energy card isBasic Fairy Energy. Where theFairy symbol appears in an attackcost, it indicates that a Fairy Energy must be attached to the Pokémon in order for the Pokémon to use that attack.

The Fairy type ceased being supported by the TCG from theSword & Shield expansion onwards.[1] Pokémon that are Fairy-type in thecore series games are now grouped with thePsychic type instead. In the2021-22 Standard format, Fairy Energy wasrotated out, becoming the first Basic Energy card with this distinction.[2]

The Fairy type does not exist inPokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.
