Emeras (Japanese:ラピスLapis) are items introduced inPokémon Super Mystery Dungeon. By putting them intolooplets, Pokémon can gain beneficial effects while traveling through a dungeon. Once the leader enters a room with an emera in it, a countdown will appear over the emera that decreases at the end of each turn. If an emera is not picked up before the countdown reaches zero, it will shatter into dust that covers nearby floor tiles. If dust is collected from twenty tiles, a new emera will form. Emera dust can also be found randomly in rooms, hallways, by throwing emera into walls (which will yield 3-4 dust tiles), and under destroyed walls in some dungeons, even if no emera was there initially. An emera that has been stood upon, created by collecting dust, or dropped by a Pokémon will never shatter and will remain on the floor until it is collected. Emeras disappear outside of dungeons.

Emeras can also be used to temporarily increase one of a Pokémon's stats during an adventure. Each kind of emera comes in one of seven different colors, with the color indicating which stat is increased when used as an item. Green emeras increaseHP, yellow emeras increaseAttack, red emeras increaseDefense, light blue emeras increaseSpecial Attack, dark blue emeras increaseSpecial Defense, and purple emeras increaseSpeed. The Awakening emera is rainbow-colored, and also increases HP if used as an item. Using an emera that increases HP increases it by 5, and all other emeras increase stats by 2.

Emeras first appear during the trip toGlittering Mountain.

Manipulation of emeras

Emeras can be manipulated in several ways:

• If the Pokémon activates anEmera-Swap Trap, an emera in the Pokémon's looplet is changed into another one.
• If the Pokémon activates anEmera-Crush Trap or is hit byGastro Acid, an emera attached to the Pokémon's looplet is lost.
