Additional effects

InGeneration I, Electric-typePokémon cannot getparalyzed by damage-dealing Electric-typemoves, but can get paralyzed by other means. FromGeneration VI onward, Electric-type Pokémon cannot get paralyzed at all.

When the moveMud Sport (introduced inGeneration III) is in effect, the power of Electric-type moves is decreased by 67% (50% prior toGeneration V). WhenElectric Terrain (introduced inGeneration VI) is in effect, thepower of Electric-type moves is increased by 30% (50% prior toGeneration VIII) if the user isgrounded.

AllNormal-type moves become Electric-type moves when affected by the movesIon Deluge (introduced in Generation VI) orPlasma Fists (introduced inPokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon). If the target is affected by the moveElectrify (introduced in Generation VI) before it uses a move, the target's move becomes Electric-type for that turn.

Only Electric-type Pokémon can use the moveDouble Shock, which will cause the user to no longer be Electric-type unlessTerastalized.

Pokémon

As ofGeneration IX, 75Pokémon are Electric-type (counting those that are Electric-type in at least one of theirforms, includingAlolan forms), which makes up 7.32% of all Pokémon, making it the third raresttype among Pokémon afterFairy and beforeGhost. After the introduction ofPawmo,Pawmot, andIron Hands in Generation IX, all other types have been paired up with Electric at least once, making Electric the fifth type to have this trait afterFlying,Water,Psychic, andDark.

The Pokémon below are listed by their current types. Some Pokémon have had their types changed, usually when a new type was introduced.
