Dexio (Japanese:デクシオDexio) is one ofProfessor Sycamore'sassistants, and often appears along with another assistant,Sina. Hespecializes inPsychic-typePokémon.
In the core series games
Pokémon X and Y

Dexio and Sina are first met by the player inRoute 4 where they discussFlabébé and theFairy type. Dexio then introduces himself as a Pokémon-voyage veteran who received his Pokédex from Professor Sycamore two years beforehand. In the gate toLumiose City, Dexio tells the player aboutfriendship and gives the playerTM27 (Return). After arriving at Lumiose City, Dexio tells the player to follow Sina to Professor Sycamore's lab.
Further on, he andSina give the player theCoastal Kalos Pokédex atRoute 8 and theMountain Kalos Dex inCoumarine City.

The duo are soon met again at theKalos Power Plant, disguised as the defenders of Kalos. They arrive to stopTeam Flare, but by the time they get there, the player has already driven the villains away. They thank the player for their help and offer their assistance before taking off. Dexio is met alongside Professor Sycamore when the player reachesDendemille Town to discuss the legend ofXerneasX/YveltalY. The player meets them again in their disguises inLysandre Labs, where they ask if the player has seena man as tall as a stretched-outSeviper that Team Flare has been searching for. There, they pretend that they have never met the player and warn them to be safe when fighting against Team Flare.
AfterLysandre is defeated in theTeam Flare Secret HQ, the masked Dexio and Sina thank the player for their victory.Tierno reveals that he andTrevor teamed up with Dexio and Sina to free the Pokémon Team Flare tied to the stones onRoute 10 to power theirultimate weapon. When Tierno states their names, Sina denies their true identities. Dexio also reveals that he and Sina destroyed the machine Lysandre used to spy on peoples'Holo Casters.
After the player has become Champion, Dexio is seen with Sina in the parade Professor Sycamore made for the player and their friends.
Pokémon Sun and Moon
Theplayer first meets Dexio alongsideSina during their first visit toHeahea City. Upon discovering that the player has aZ-Ring, heS/SinaM battles the player. After the battle, Dexio gives the player aZygarde Cube, and the two of them task the player with finding theZygardeCells and Cores scattered acrossAlola.
The player later meets the duo in anAether Foundation Laboratory onRoute 16, where they explain how to use the Zygarde Core to create a Zygarde to add to their team.
After becoming the firstChampion of theAlola League, the player meets Dexio and Sina again atAncient Poni Path. Dexio begins to mentionMega Evolution, and battles the player to demonstrate it, using hisMega Ring to Mega Evolve hisAlakazam. After defeating him, Dexio and Sina explainKey Stones andMega Stones to the player, and give them a Key Stone of their own, suggesting that they attach it to the opposite end of their Z-Ring. Dexio also gives the player Alakazam's Mega Stone,Alakazite.
Dexio appears as a possible opponent and partner in theBattle Tree. In the Battle Tree, Dexio's selection of Pokémon is more balanced, with a focus on Pokémonexclusive to Pokémon Sun.
Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon
Theplayer first meets Dexio alongside Sina during their first visit to Heahea City. Upon discovering that the player has aZ-Power Ring, heUS/SinaUM battles the player. After the battle, Dexio gives the player aFull Restore.
After becoming the first Champion of the Alola League, the player meets Dexio and Sina again atPoni Plains. Dexio begins to mention Mega Evolution, and battles the player to demonstrate it, using his Mega Ring to Mega Evolve his Alakazam. After defeating him, Dexio and Sina explain Key Stones andMega Stones to the player, and give them a Key Stone of their own, suggesting that they attach it to the opposite end of their Z-Power Ring. Dexio also gives the player Alakazam's Mega Stone,Alakazite.
The player later meets the duo in an Aether Foundation Laboratory on Route 16 after capturing Zygarde atResolution Cave. They explain that the Zygarde the player encountered is the 50% Forme of Zygarde and that they had found a 10% Forme Zygarde, which they give to the player. After defeating Dexio, they will explain about the Zygarde Cube and how to use it to combine a Zygarde from its 100 Cells and Cores.
Dexio also appears as a possible opponent and partner in theBattle Tree.

X & Y arc
Dexio first appeared inKangaskhan...Kangascan't. He and Sina were first seen being called byProfessor Sycamore to make a copy of the footage ofVaniville Town's destruction so thatLysandre may study it.
InWhat Does Charmander Do When It Dozes, Dexio and Sina were sent to find Professor Sycamore's missingCharmander, which had escaped from his lab. They found Charmander withX and his friends. Mistaking the children for thieves, Dexio and Sina took Charmander, but were stopped byTierno, who used hisRoller Skates to take Charmander back. After Tierno explained that they were merely returning Charmander to its proper owner, Dexio and Sina excused themselves and left.
InZygarde Appears, Dexio and Sina infiltrated Lysandre Café. There, they defeated a disguisedTeam Flare Grunt and interrogated him for information onTeam Flare's whereabouts. After getting what they wanted, Dexio and Sina reported to Professor Sycamore that Team Flare went into hiding at thePokémon Village.
InFloette Returns, after Team Flare's defeat, Professor Sycamore had Dexio and Sina sent toAlola to investigate theZygarde Cells that have been spotted around the region.
Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon arc
InA Photoshoot and the Abandoned Thrifty Megamart, Dexio and Sina arrived onUla'ula Island. In the five months that passed since they arrived in Alola, the duo managed to gather sixty percent of Zygarde's Cells. Later, they spottedSun usingStoutlandSearch and decided to ask him to help find the remaining Cells.
InConfusion and Monsters from Another World, Dexio and Sina infiltrated theAether House, where they met Sun and requested that he help them find Zygarde's Cells. While he was initially reluctant, Sun agreed after Dexio and Sina offered to pay him a large amount of money for each Cell he found. After receiving aZygarde Cube to store the Cells in as well as aMechaFletchling to keep in touch with Dexio and Sina, Sun set off.
InDarkness!! The Mysterious Claws of Necrozma!, Dexio and Sina introducedSamson Oak to the Reassembly Unit at the Aether Base onRoute 16, which they planned to use to control Zygarde's forms. Later, Dexio, Sina, Samson, andLillie set off toMount Lanakila to investigate anUltra Wormhole that appeared above the area. Before they could leave, a large swarm of Zygarde Cells and a Core converged into the Reassembly Unit and emerged as a Complete Forme Zygarde. Shortly afterward, Sun emerged from the wormhole and was rescued by Zygarde. Dexio and the others traveled to Mount Lanakila, where they found an injuredLunala andLusamine. After Lillie helped free her mother from theNihilego she was fused with, Lusamine fainted. Sun tried getting Zygarde to take Lusamine to a hospital, only to notice thatNecrozma had arrived.
Sun and Samson stayed behind to battle Necrozma while Dexio and Sina took Lillie and Lusamine to a safer place. They tried taking an elevator to the base of the mountain, only for Dexio to be hit by a poison arrow fired byPlumeria, who had disguised herself asMoon. InRegeneration!! The Power of the Sun and the Moon!, both Sina and Dexio's Pokémon were taken out, where it was then up to Lillie to stop Plumeria.
Pokémon
Espeon is Dexio's only known Pokémon. It was first used to fight the HeadmasterOranguru at theAether House. At Mount Lanakila, it was taken down by Plumeria'sSalazzle.
None of Espeon's moves are known.
Trivia

- While Dexio has not appeared in theanimated series,James wore an outfit similar to hisGeneration VII outfit as adisguise while participating in theManalo Conference. He also used a fake name based on Dexio's name: Jamesio (Japanese:デコジロウDekojirō).
