This card was included in theDetective Pikachu subset with artwork supplied byMPC Film.
In Japan, it was included in theDetective Pikachu Special Jumbo Card Pack: Charizard-GX Version as a Mirror HolofoilSM-P Promotional card. This print features the Japanese movie logo in the bottom right corner of the artwork.
ASM Black Star Promo print with artwork by an unknown illustrator was included in theDetective Pikachu Café Figure Collection, purportedly available from June 28, 2019 but released ahead of schedule atTarget stores in early May.
In Japan, it was included in limited edition Detective Pikachu pamphlets that could be purchased at participating cinemas screening the film upon its release on May 3, 2019. This print also features the Japanese movie logo in the bottom right corner of the artwork. This print was later included again in theDetective Pikachu On the Case Figure Collection released August 9, 2019.
In Korea, this card is one of theSM-P Promotional cards, and was distributed in a ticket giveaway for the Korean premiere ofPOKÉMON Detective Pikachu on May 9, 2019.
