In thePokémon Masters Animated Trailer, Cheren teamed up withKorrina andMisty to battlePokémon ChampionsCynthia,Steven Stone, andLance at a stadium inPasio. He orderedStoutland to attack withGiga Impact, but it was knocked back byCynthia's Garchomp'sDragon Claw.

Stoutland is Cheren's only known Pokémon. AlongsideKorrina's Lucario andMisty's Starmie, it battledCynthia's Garchomp,Steven's Metagross, andLance's Dragonite. Stoutland tried to hit Garchomp with Giga Impact, but Garchomp defended itself withDragon Claw and knocked it back, forcing Lucario to try and catch it, but this backfired and both Pokémon were incapacitated. After Starmie protected it and Lucario from Dragonite'sHyper Beam, Stoutland defended itself from Metagross'sFlash Cannon with Crunch.
