Effect

In battle

If held by aCharizard (or is present in theplayer'sBagPE), the Charizardite Y allows it toMega Evolve into Mega Charizard Y if itsTrainer has aKey Stone. A Trainer can only Mega Evolve one Pokémon per battle (or only have one Mega-Evolved Pokémon at any given momentZA).

As aMega Stone, it is unaffected by item-negating effects (such asEmbargo andKlutz). Item-manipulating effects (such asTrick andFling) cannot give or remove a Charizardite Y from Charizard.

Outside of battle

If held by a Charizard, the Charizardite Y allows it to Mega Evolve into Mega Charizard Y when it performs aSpectacular Talent during aPokémon Contest Spectacular if its Trainer has a Key Stone. Charizard will remain a Mega Charizard Y until theTalent Round ends.
