Charge Beam (Japanese:チャージビームCharge Beam) is a damage-dealingElectric-typemove introduced inGeneration IV.
It is:
- TM57 from Generation IV toPokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, as well as inPokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
- TM023 inPokémon Scarlet and Violet.
- TM130 inPokémon Legends: Z-A.
Effect
Generation IV
Charge Beam deals damage and has a 70% chance of raising the user'sSpecial Attack by one stage.
Generation V to VIII
Due toa glitch, if the user hasSerene Grace and is under the effects of the rainbow from the combination ofFire Pledge andWater Pledge, the additional effect chance is calculated as 280%, which overflows[1] and becomes 24%.
Charge Beam can also be used as part of aContest Spectacular combination, with the user gaining an extra three appeal points if the moveCharge was used in the prior turn.
