About Bulbapedia
Bulbapedia is an online encyclopedia aboutPokémon to which anyone can contribute.
Bulbapedia is part ofBulbagarden, the original Pokémon community, and was first opened to the public on February 14, 2005. Since then, thousands of volunteer editors from around the world have contributed their knowledge of Pokémon and have collaboratively written 61,367 articles. Bulbapedia is now the world's largest Pokémon encyclopedia, and continues to grow every day thanks to the efforts of the community.
The encyclopedia's purpose is to be the ultimate English-language Pokémon resource, by providing comprehensive information on all aspects of the franchise. To this end, Bulbapedia is awiki built usingMediaWiki, which means that anyone is able to create an account and make edits and additions.Getting started is incredibly easy.
Documentation efforts also include theBulbagarden Archives, serving as the site's repository for images and other media that help illustrate the encyclopedia.

Bulbapedia is a founding member ofEncyclopædiæ Pokémonis, a multilingual, open-content Pokémon encyclopedia project. Currently consisting of seven members with wikis in English, German, Japanese, French, Italian, Chinese and Spanish, the wikis interlink together to enable Pokémon fans from around the world to find information in their own language.

This partnership with HAVA Media allows Bulbagarden to continue to provide the world's largest repository of Pokémon information free of charge, and also allows Bulbagarden to provide hosting to other independent websites, includingDogasu's Backpack and the JapanesePokémon Wiki.
