Brandon Barnes (Japanese:ブレンダン・バーンズBrandon Barnes) is a friend and butler ofSanjeev Denis in the gameDetective Pikachu Returns.

Brandon is introduced at the start of the game duringTim's first major case investigating the theft of theAurora Drop. Barnes is the butler of theDenis Residence, and a close friend toSanjeev Denis, having known him before Sanjeev had met his wifeClaudia. Barnes is suspected by the police andBrad as the primary culprit for the theft of the precious jewel as he would have had access to the key from Sanjeev'sGrowlithe and had no alibi at the time of the incident.

Barnes is later cleared after Tim and Pikachu's investigations implicateLarry, a newly appointed staff at the residence, as the thief of the Aurora Drop.

Personality and characteristics

Brandon is loyal to Sanjeev and appears to be a close confidant of Sanjeev, having known about Sanjeev's intentions to donate the Aurora Drop. It is noted that Barnes will often side with Sanjeev when mediating between Sanjeev and his wife Claudia. He is formal in his manner of speech, but can also be passionate when talking about his partnerDucklett.
