Release information

This card was first released in the JapaneseV Starter Set Lightning. The English print was first released in theSword & Shield expansion, along withFull Art andSecret Rainbow Rare prints, which all feature artwork byNaoki Saito. All three Sword & Shield prints originate from the JapaneseSword expansion. In Japan, the Regular print was reprinted in theSword & Shield Premium Trainer Box and as a Mirror HolofoilS-P Promotional card, which was awarded to winners of New Battle events held at participating Pokémon Card Gym venues. Events held between December 6, 2019 and February 6, 2020 required players to use at least four Pokémon from theSword orShield expansions in their decks.[1] Events that started February 7, 2020 required players to use at least four Pokémon from theVMAX Rising subset. These would have been held up to March 5 inclusive but all official events were canceled starting February 29, 2020 due to the onset of theCOVID-19 pandemic.[2] This print has the collection number 027/S-P and features the Pokémon Card Gym logo. Another S-P Promotional print, this time Non Holofoil and with the collection number 056/S-P, was one of nine possible cards included in special packs sent to Event Organizers in April 2020 for distribution in official events hosted by them. This print features the Event Organizer logo in the bottom right corner of the illustration. It was reprinted again in the JapaneseWater Wailord V Deck. Outside Asia, the Regular print was reprinted in theChampion's Path expansion.

Another S-P Promotional print with different artwork byYou Iribi was released in the JapaneseBede's Determination Trainer Card Collection on November 20, 2020. This print was later released in the specialCrown Zenith expansion outside Asia.
