Beak Blast (Japanese:くちばしキャノンBeak Cannon) is a damage-dealingFlying-typemove introduced inGeneration VII. It is thesignature move ofToucannon.
Effect
Beak Blast is a decreasedpriority move. The user charges up at the beginning of the turn and executes Beak Blast at -3 priority. All who makecontact with the user during the charging phase areburned.
Its charging message is displayed before any other moves.
The charging phase occurs whether or not the user's status would prevent it from executing Beak Blast. For example, if the user is confused, the confusion check is performed before the strike, not the initial charge.
Pokémon withBulletproof are immune to Beak Blast, but are not immune to the burn.
Generation VIII
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Beak Blast cannot be selected in a battle.
Generation IX
In Versions 1.0 to 2.0.2 ofPokémon Scarlet and Violet, Beak Blast could not be selected in a battle. Starting with Version 3.0.0, it is usable and functions the same as it did in previous generations.
