Backdrops (Japanese:はいけいBackground) are a type ofitem inGeneration IV. They are stored in theFashion Case, along withAccessories.

They are primarily used inSuper Contests, but can also be used on the second floor of theJubilife TV building. Only one can be used at a time.Players ofDiamond and Pearl can win more daily in thePokémon Lottery Corner draw, while players ofPlatinum can get a random one once a day from a woman at the Global Terminal inJubilife City. Players ofHeartGold and SoulSilver can randomly receive Backdrops when entering a drawing that a man in theGoldenrod Tunnel runs. They can also be obtained from a lady inPal Park who is watching the Catching Show.
