History

Gold, Silver & Crystal arc

Archy and Crystal

Archy was first seen inSlugging It Out with Slugma atMt. Mortar whenCrystal wastraining to become a capture pro. During her training, Archy was awildPokémon out of control due to an eye injury from aLarvitar. Due to his attack, Crystal fell and broke her arms. When she later awoke, a group of wild Pokémon helped her recover. After figuring out what happened, she went looking for Arcanine to see what caused his rampage. When she found him, she noticed his eye and hadParasect nurse his eye back to health. Noticing that he was not naturally aggressive, Crystal decided to add him to her team.

Archy then showed up alongside Crystal's other Pokémon to help prove her capturing skills toProfessor Oak.

InSuddenly Suicune (Part 2), Archy battledSuicune to try and help Crystal capture it. After failing the capture, Crystal sends Archy andBonee after it. Bonee rides on Archy and usesFalse Swipe while Archy tackles it. While it appears Suicune blocked, it soon became obvious that a translucent wall between Suicune and Bonee was made. Archy, alongside Crystal and Bonee, attempt to keep the wall from closing but in the end Suicune closes it and escapes.

Archy facing the Larvitar that injured him

InLively Larvitar, Archy helped with Crystal's training on Mt. Mortar. Suddenly, Archy growls, and the Larvitar that injured him before appears. It then begins attacking Archy, while targeting the right side where he has trouble seeing. Due to this Archy is quickly defeated andMegaree finishes the battle for him.

HeartGold & SoulSilver arc

InPleased as Punch With Parasect, Archy battledTeam Rocket ExecutiveAriana and herGloom, attacking with a powerfulFlamethrower. Despite putting up a good fight, he was recalled when Crystal left the battle to chaseArceus.

Personality and characteristics

Archy is a very quick-tempered Pokémon and often rushes into battle using his incredible speed. Archy has proven to be a strong battler and isCrystal's main mode of transportation. Due to aLarvitar attacking him he has bad eyesight on the right side. This can be used to his disadvantage, as Pokémon aware of this weakness are able to use this to win against the Legendary Pokémon despite Archy being the stronger Pokémon.
