Alola first partner Pokémon
TheAlolafirst partner Pokémon are the trio ofPokémon—Rowlet,Litten, andPopplio[1]—chosen byTrainers at the start of their journey inAlola. These are traditionally given out byMelemele Island'skahuna,Hala, and are to be used to battle the firstwild Pokémon that theTrainer encounters.
In official contexts, the group is referred to descriptively in several ways, including "Alola's first partner Pokémon"[2], "first partner Pokémon of the Alola region"[1], and more.
In the Alola-basedcore series games, the player can choose aFire-,Water-, orGrass-type partner Pokémon atlevel 5.

Ash owns two of the three Alola first partner Pokémon, having caught a wildRowlet andLitten. Litten later evolved intoTorracat and thenIncineroar.Lana had also managed to catch a first partner, herPopplio, which would later evolve into Brionne and then Primarina. Lana also received aPrimarium Z.
Professor Kukui also owns anIncineroar, which he used while disguised as the Masked Royal and duringBattle Royals. It is seen as a Litten in some episodes and flashbacks.Hau owns aDartrix which later evolved into aDecidueye.
The animation for title cards inPokémon the Series: Sun & Moon includes all three of the Alola first partner Pokémon, as well as Pikachu.

InPokémon Adventures, Professor Kukui is responsible for handing out the Alola first partner Pokémon. Prior to the start of the chapter, he givesSun aLitten, leavingPopplio andRowlet at his lab. Rowlet is eventually claimed byMoon and the professor gives the Popplio toHau.
