Location
Location of Agate Village inOrre. |
Agate Village (Japanese:アゲトビレッジAget Village) is a small, lush, forest village located in north-centralOrre. A large river runs past the town, accounting for its abundance of flora in an area that is primarily desert. The terrain in the village is also fairly mountainous as it is located near the westernmost edge ofMt. Battle.
Agate Village is primarily a retirement destination for elderlyPokémon Trainers. Most of the citizens are senior Trainers who have retired from professional training; however, most keep theirPokémon with them in old age, living out the winter of their lives with their treasured companions.
Many young Trainers visit Agate, either because they have relatives there or because they seek the wisdom of their elders. Few youngsters actually live in Agate.
Agate'sPoké Mart is the only one in Orre that sellsScents used to massage Pokémon.
Places of interest
Discounting visitors, Agate Village has a population of 19 inColosseum.
Berry Master
On the northeasternmost ledge in Agate, there is an old man who hands outBerries that hisTaillow picks—akin to aBerry Master in other regions. The type of Berry he gives out is randomly selected from the first fifteen Berries obtainable in theHoenn region.
Eagun's house
Eagun's house is built within a large tree in north-central Agate. In his youth, Eagun was with little doubt the greatest Trainer of his day. Eagun lives with his wife, and still spends time with his first Pokémon, aPikachu.
InPokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, aLucky Egg can be obtained here after defeatingGreevil, clearing round one of theOrre Colosseum, and completing a side quest involvingDr. Kaminko's faulty Pokémon Translators.
Move Tutor
Orre's loneMove Tutor is located in a cave on the west side of Agate Village inPokémon XD only. Each move can only be taught once.

- Main article:Pokémon Day Care
Orre's onlyPokémon Day Care is located in northeast Agate. The Day Care has room for only one Pokémon, makingbreeding impossible. The Day Care is also home to Orre's onlyName Rater. InColosseum, the Day Care can assist in purifying Shadow Pokémon, but not inPokémon XD.
Relic Forest
TheRelic Forest (Japanese:聖なる森Sacred Forest) is a denseforest located beneath the northern portion of Agate Village. It is accessed from the village by way of theRelic Cave. In the center of the forest is a shrine dedicated toCelebi. The shrine's centerpiece is theRelic Stone, a monument that contains the power to open the hearts ofShadow Pokémon. If aTime Flute is used at the stone, Celebi will appear to fully purify and unlock the heart of a single Pokémon.
The Relic Forest is similar toJohto'sIlex Forest in that both forests contain a structure where Celebi can appear if a specific item is used.
