A Pasio Spectacle (Japanese:パシオに光るこだわりThe Passion that Shines in Pasio) was asolo event inPokémon Masters EX. It was focused onsync pairs with the Glasses and Sunglassestheme skills.

During this event, players could earn event vouchers from battles which could be redeemed in theshop. Obtaining 2,500 vouchers would unlock the story areaStyle Prevails. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day. Extra vouchers were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.

First run

The event first ran from January 24 to February 7, 2022. The "Serena, Guzma, and Bianca Spotlight Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Serena & Fennekin, Guzma & Golisopod, and Bianca & Musharna for the duration of the event.

In this run, the type of voucher that players could earn was Event Voucher G.

The player could battle using Serena & Fennekin/Braixen/Delphox, Guzma & Golisopod, or Bianca & Musharna to obtain +0.6× bonus vouchers; Maxie & Groudon, Kukui & Lycanroc, Clemont & Heliolisk, Steven (Summer 2020) & Sandslash, Darach & Staraptor, Sonia & Yamper, or Lear & Hoopa to obtain +0.4× bonus vouchers; and Calem & Espurr/Meowstic, Rachel & Umbreon, Sawyer & Honchkrow, Lorelei & Lapras, Shauntal & Chandelure, Blaine & Ponyta/Rapidash, Lt. Surge & Raichu, Molayne & Dugtrio, Lt. Surge & Voltorb/Electrode, and Roark & Cranidos/Rampardos to obtain +0.2× bonus vouchers.

Second run

The event reran from September 12 to 26, 2022. In this run, the type of voucher that players could earn was Event Voucher Y.

The player could battle using Serena & Fennekin/Braixen/Delphox, Guzma & Golisopod, or Bianca & Musharna to obtain +0.6× bonus vouchers; Maxie & Groudon, Kukui & Lycanroc, Clemont & Heliolisk, Steven (Summer 2020) & Sandslash, Darach & Staraptor, Sonia & Yamper, or Lear & Hoopa to obtain +0.4× bonus vouchers; and any unlisted sync pairs with the Sunglasses or Glassestheme skills to obtain +0.2× bonus vouchers.

Additionally, all of the above sync pairs received a ×3.0 bonus to their Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk and Sp. Defstats when used for any battle in this run.

Plot

AtCentra City, aScientist cries out as threeTeam Break grunts threaten to replace his glasses with a mask. After the grunts do so, they make a plan to put Team Break masks on everyone inPasio. Before they can leave, a group of glasses-wearingTrainers—Calem,Serena,Bianca,Clemont, andSonia—appear. They demand for the grunts to stop trying to force others to conform to their fashion standards, especially because glasses are an essential accessory. The grunts grow angry and attempt to continue with their plans, when suddenlyGuzma enters withProfessor Kukui andMolayne. Guzma demands to know who has a problem with his sunglasses, and the Team Break grunts nervously prepare to fight.

After the grunts are defeated, the Scientist thanks the glasses-wearing Trainers for their help. The Team Break grunts flee to the outskirts of Centra City, and are shocked to seeShauntal andLorelei talking about their glasses asLt. Surge,Blaine, andDarach stand behind them. Scared to challengeGym Leaders, aCastle Valet, and members of theElite Four, the three run away to a volcano.

At the volcano, the Team Break grunts are surprised to seeMaxie andGroudon. Maxie walks over to them, and believing the grunts to be interested in his glasses, begins to explain how they were designed. The grunts politely decline to hear Maxie's explanation, then run off to another area of the volcano. Just as the grunts complain about how many glasses-wearing Trainers they have run into, they hearSteven andRoark having a conversation about glasses. One of the grunts is surprised that Steven would have anything to say about them, but then another one mentions how Steven wears sunglasses during the summer. Realizing they have no way of beating aChampion, the grunts flee once more.

Tired of walking from one place to another, the Team Break grunts stop to rest at the Pasio arena. A voice calls out to them, glad to hear that they are physically unable to continue with their plans. They turn around to seeLear,Rachel, andSawyer, each wearing their glasses. Lear berates them for their plan, telling them that they picked the wrong group of Trainers to harass. The grunts realize that Lear is correct, and decide to give up on their goal. Distressed, the leader of the grunts expresses his surprise about how much the Trainers of Pasio enjoy wearing their glasses.
