I've seen in tutorials that you just "pressF multiple times" to iterate through faces but that just doesn't do anything. It doesn't even merge multiple times, it just looks at a face and, well, nothing happens.

To describe what I'm trying to do, I have a curve and I'm trying to fill each arm with each other arm and not produce n-gons in the process. I really do not want to go through each and every face manually but I don't know how to even phrase that question so I am here. Images to describe better:

I select the edges

Then I merge le faces. It's grueling

  • $\begingroup$Hello and welcome. Please use a title that matches the content of the post. It should read like a question, be descriptive but succinct, unique and identifying, summarizing the problem so anyone searching for similar issues is likely to find this. Remove anything superfluous, avoid vague words like "this", "help with", "issue", "like in image" "question about", instead describe what "it" is. Your title is the first thing visitors see, answers you get depend heavily on it. SeeWhat is the problem of asking “How do I do this?"$\endgroup$Commentedyesterday
  • $\begingroup$Hey, sorry, thank you for changing the name, it's much better. I was looking for a while and couldn't think of how to phrase it but yeah "help, newbie here blah blah" doesn't explain anything about the problem. Thanks :D$\endgroup$Commentedyesterday

In edge select mode, try selecting only one edge, the "leading edge" between the last face added and where you want the next face to go:

Now, when you pressF, it should add a face and switch the selection automatically to the next "leading edge":

allowing you to keep pressingF to add faces.

The process may get stuck. In this example, pressingF does nothing because of the missing face earlier in the spiral:

In that case, you can create the face manually:

but then you need to switch the selection back to that leading edge again before continuing:
