As a way to further efforts to mitigate challenges facing these communities, BVN is highlighting Black- owned businesses and the institutions that support them. The series will consist of stories, photo essays, and pop-up newsroom events that center on the lived experiences of Black-owned business owners and workers in the region.
By 2030, one in three Californians will be over 50, and the population over 60 in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties is projected to increase by nearly 200% from 2010 to 2060. With the aging population, the demand for caregivers is growing, raising concerns about the home care industry’s ability to meet this demand and manage associated costs; this series will explore caregiving topics, including system navigation, care costs, and in-home care resources.
