Memories
Unconditional love
04/18/2018At Uncle Gerald's funeral in 2003, Grampy told me that he has such tender feelings about me. He says that I'm "almost complete"... I just need to find a good man. He tearfully told me that he has reverent feelings about me and would give his life for me if it became necessary. I cannot explain in human words, the relationship I have with my Grandpa. I know with my entire soul and being that he loves me unconditionally, with a pure love that I haven't experienced from any other human being. My Grandpa Udall is the person on this earth who is able to truly love me in the Christ-like way I deserve to be loved. I feel it every time I'm in his presence. We rarely meet without tearing up. It's glorious.
Prostate Cancer
04/18/2018My worst nightmare came true in October 2003 when my Mom called to tell me that Grampy had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. I lost it immediately. I drove to Thatcher the next day and stayed all weekend. We dont yet know if it's serious or minor. It was a perfect weekend though. Well worth the trip. I went to Thatcher's football game with Grampy on Friday night. I love watching him interact with people. He is so highly respected by everyone he comes in contact with. And it's well deserved. He's been an amazing influence for some many people.
Courtship with Leona
04/18/2018In July of 2004, I visiting my grandparents in Thatcher for the weekend. They asked about my dating life and then talked about their courtship. They loved talking on the phone while he was in Tucson at school and she was in Thatcher. He said he could hardly wait to be near her so he could hold her arm and just be in her presence. His favorite things about her where her intelligence and her integrity. She said she had always admired him in school though he was several years older than her.

04/18/2018My "grampy" was one of my favorite people on Earth. He was so patient, kind and loving. I really feel like he embodied the pure love and charity of Christ. I loved sleeping at their house. I'd watch MASH and the news with grandpa at night and then I'd wake up really early in the morning to sit at the kitchen table while grandpa and grandma did the crossword puzzle in the paper. I just loved to soak up every word they said. The older I got, the more reverent I felt about my grandpa and the person he was.
Dad's Favorite Poem
04/18/2018All the breath and the bloom of the year in the bag of one bee:All the wonder and wealth of the mine in the heart of one gem:In the core of one pearl all the shade and the shine of the sea:Breath and bloom, shade and shine, wonder, wealth, and--how far above them--Truth, that's brighter than gem,Trust, that's purer than pearl,--Brightest truth, purest trust in the universe--all were for meIn the kiss of one girl Robert Browning
