Walking by the Spirit
(Galatians 5:16–26)
1There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit.2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath set me free from the law of sin and death.3For that which was impossible for the lawto do, and in which it was weak throughthe corruption of the flesh, Godby sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful fleshto be a sacrifice for sin, hathdone; that is, hath condemned sin in the flesh:4that the righteousness of the law may be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit.5For they who are after the flesh, mind the things of the flesh; but they who are led by the Spirit,do mind spiritualthings.6Now to be carnally mindedis death; but to be spiritually mindedis life and peace:7because the carnal mind is an enemy to God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be:8and they who are carnal, cannot please God.
9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if the Spirit of God dwelleth in you: but if anyone hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.10And if Christbe in you, the body indeedis dead because of sin, but the spiritis alive because of righteousness.11And if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead, dwelleth in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead, will also restore your mortal bodies to life, by his Spirit thatnow dwelleth in you.
Heirs with Christ
12Therefore, brethren, we are debtors not to the flesh, to live after the flesh:13for if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die; but if by the Spirit ye mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.15For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.16So that the Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and co-heirs with Christ: if so be we suffer withHim, that we may be also glorified withHim.
Future Glory
(2 Corinthians 5:1–10)
18And I account the sufferings of this present time not worthyto be set against the glory that shall be revealed to us.19For the earnest expectation of the world is waiting for the revelation of the sons of God:20(for the world was subjected to vanity, not willingly, but through him who made it subject:)21in hope that they also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.22For we know that the whole world groaneth, and dothas it were travail in pain together even to this day.23And not onlyothers, but those also who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption,to wit the redemption of our body.24For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen, is not hope; for what anyone sees, how doth he yet hope for?25but if we hope for what we see not, then we wait for it with patience.
26And the Spirit likewise helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for, as we ought: but the Spirit itself intercedes for us with unutterable groans.27And He that searcheth the hearts, knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit; for he intercedeth for the saints according tothe will of God.
God Works in All Things
(Ephesians 1:3–14)
28And we know that allthings co-operate for good to them that love God, to them that are called according to his purpose;29for those whom he foreknew, He also predeterminedto be conformed to the image of his Son, that He might beas the first-born among many brethren: and whom He before ordained, these He also called;30and whom He called, these he also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
31What shall we say then to thesethings? if Godbe for us, whocan be against us?32He that spared not his own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him freely give us allthings?33Who shall layany accusation against the elect of God?will God, who justifiethus?34Whois he that condemneth? Is it Christ, that diedfor us? yea rather, that is risen again, who is also at the righthand of God, and who maketh intercession for us?
More than Conquerors
35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?shall affliction, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36(as it is written, "for thy sake we are killed all the day long, we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter:")
37but in all thesethings we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.38For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, northings present, northings future,39nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God whichis in Christ Jesus our Lord.
