Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, rebuked Elymas, saying, "You are a child of the devil and an enemy of all righteousness. You are full of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the straight ways of the Lord?" (Acts 13:10). Consequently, Elymas was struck with blindness, a sign that led the proconsul to believe, being astonished at the teaching about the Lord (Acts 13:12).
