Setting the Scene

Hezekiah lay dying when God granted him fifteen more years (Isaiah 38:1–5). His praise in verse 20 rises from a bed of affliction, showing how deliverance fuels worship even while scars remain.

“The LORD will save me,

and we will play my songs on stringed instruments

all the days of our lives

in the house of the LORD.” (Isaiah 38:20)

• The LORD will save me – not might, but will. His rescue is certain, so fear loses its grip.

• We will play – personal gratitude overflows into shared celebration; isolation is replaced by community.

• All the days of our lives – praise isn’t a one-time event; it becomes the soundtrack of every tomorrow.

• In the house of the LORD – troubles may confine us, but worship relocates our hearts into God’s presence.

5. Gather weekly with the church; collective voices amplify solitary hope.
