1He saidto His disciples,"It is inevitablethat stumbling blockscome,but woeto him throughwhomthey come!2"It would be betterfor him ifa millstonewere hungaroundhis neckand he were throwninto the sea,thanthat he would causeoneof theselittle onesto stumble.3"Be on your guard!Ifyour brothersins,rebukehim; and ifhe repents,forgivehim.4"And ifhe sinsagainstyou seventimesa day,and returnsto you seven times,saying,'I repent,'forgivehim."
5The apostlessaidto the Lord,"Increaseour faith!"6And the Lordsaid,"Ifyou hadfaithlikea mustardseed,you would sayto thismulberry tree,'Be uprootedand be plantedin the sea;and it would obeyyou.
7"Whichof you, havinga slaveplowingortending sheep,will sayto him when he has comein from the field,'Comeimmediatelyand sit downto eat'?8"But will he not sayto him, 'Preparesomethingfor me to eat,and [properly] clotheyourself and serveme whileI eatand drink;and afterwardyou may eatand drink'?9"He does not thankthe slavebecausehe didthe things which were commanded,does he?10"Soyou too,whenyou doall the thingswhich are commandedyou, say,'We are unworthyslaves;we have done[only] that whichwe oughtto have done.'"
11WhileHe was on the wayto Jerusalem,He was passingbetweenSamariaand Galilee.12As He entereda village,tenleprousmenwhostoodat a distancemetHim;13and they raisedtheir voices,saying,"Jesus,Master,have mercyon us!"14When He sawthem, He saidto them, "Goand showyourselvesto the priests."And as they were going,they were cleansed.15Nowoneof them, when he sawthat he had been healed,turned back,glorifyingGodwith a loudvoice,16and he fellon his faceat His feet,giving thanksto Him. And he was a Samaritan.17ThenJesusansweredand said,"Were there not tencleansed?But the nine--whereare they?18"Was noone foundwho returnedto givegloryto God,exceptthisforeigner?"19And He saidto him, "Standup and go;your faithhas made you well."
20Nowhaving been questionedby the Phariseesas to whenthe kingdomof Godwas coming,He answeredthem and said,"The kingdomof Godis not comingwith signs to be observed;21norwill they say,'Look,here[it is]!' or,'There[it is]!' For behold,the kingdomof Godis in your midst."
22And He saidto the disciples,"The dayswill comewhenyou will longto seeoneof the daysof the Sonof Man,and you will not seeit.23"They will sayto you, 'Lookthere!Lookhere!'Do not go away,and do not run after[them].24"For just likethe lightning,when it flashesout of one part of the sky,shinesto the other part of the sky,sowill the Sonof Manbe in His day.25"But firstHe mustsuffermany thingsand be rejectedby thisgeneration.26"And justas it happenedin the daysof Noah,soit will be alsoin the daysof the Sonof Man:27they were eating,they were drinking,they were marrying,they were being given in marriage,untilthe daythat Noahenteredthe ark,and the floodcameand destroyedthem all.28"It was the sameas happenedin the daysof Lot:they were eating,they were drinking,they were buying,they were selling,they were planting,they were building;29but on the daythat Lotwentout from Sodomit rainedfireand brimstonefrom heavenand destroyedthem all.30"It will be justthe sameon the daythat the Sonof Manis revealed.31"On that day,the one whois on the housetopand whosegoodsare in the housemust not go downto takethem out; and likewisethe one whois in the fieldmust not turnback.32"RememberLot'swife.33"Whoeverseeksto keephis lifewill loseit, and whoeverloses[his life] will preserveit.34"I tellyou, on that nightthere will be twoin onebed;onewill be takenand the otherwill be left.35"There will be twowomen grindingat the sameplace; onewill be takenand the otherwill be left.36["Two menwill be in the field;onewill be takenand the otherwill be left.]"37And answeringthey saidto Him, "Where,Lord?"And He saidto them, "Wherethe body[is], therealsothe vultureswill be gathered."
