1Then the LORDspoketo Mosesand to Aaron,saying,2"Whena manhason the skinof his bodya swellingora scabora brightspot,and it becomesan infectionof leprosyon the skinof his body,then he shall be broughtto Aaronthe priestorto oneof his sonsthe priests.3"The priestshall lookat the markon the skinof the body,and if the hairin the infectionhas turnedwhiteand the infectionappearsto be deeperthanthe skinof his body,it is an infectionof leprosy;when the priesthas lookedat him, he shall pronouncehim unclean.4"But ifthe brightspotis whiteon the skinof his body,and it does not appearto be deeperthanthe skin,and the hairon it has not turnedwhite,then the priestshall isolate[him who has] the infectionfor sevendays.5"The priestshall lookat him on the seventhday,and ifin his eyesthe infectionhas not changed[and] the infectionhas not spreadon the skin,then the priestshall isolatehim for sevenmoredays.6"The priestshall lookat him againon the seventhday,and ifthe infectionhas fadedand the markhas not spreadon the skin,then the priestshall pronouncehim clean;it is [only] a scab.And he shall washhis clothesand be clean.
7"But ifthe scabspreadsfartheron the skinafterhe has shownhimself to the priestfor his cleansing,he shall appearagainto the priest.8"The priestshall look,and ifthe scabhas spreadon the skin,then the priestshall pronouncehim unclean;it is leprosy.
9"Whenthe infectionof leprosyis on a man,then he shall be broughtto the priest.10"The priestshall then look,and ifthere is a whiteswellingin the skin,and it has turnedthe hairwhite,and there is quickrawfleshin the swelling,11it is a chronicleprosyon the skinof his body,and the priestshall pronouncehim unclean;he shall not isolatehim, for he is unclean.12"Ifthe leprosybreaksout fartheron the skin,and the leprosycoversallthe skinof [him who has] the infectionfrom his headeven to his feet,as faras the priestcan see,13then the priestshall look,and behold,[if] the leprosyhas coveredallhis body,he shall pronounceclean[him who has] the infection;it has allturnedwhite[and] he is clean.14"But wheneverrawfleshappearson him, he shall be unclean.15"The priestshall lookat the rawflesh,and he shall pronouncehim unclean;the rawfleshis unclean,it is leprosy.16"Orifthe rawfleshturnsagainand is changedto white,then he shall cometo the priest,17and the priestshall lookat him, and behold,[if] the infectionhas turnedto white,then the priestshall pronounceclean[him who has] the infection;he is clean.
18"Whenthe bodyhasa boilon its skinand it is healed,19and in the placeof the boilthere is a whiteswellingora reddish-white,brightspot,then it shall be shownto the priest;20and the priestshall look,and behold,[if] it appearsto be lowerthanthe skin,and the hairon it has turnedwhite,then the priestshall pronouncehim unclean;it is the infectionof leprosy,it has brokenout in the boil.21"But ifthe priestlooksat it, and behold,thereare nowhitehairsin it and it is not lowerthanthe skinand is faded,then the priestshall isolatehim for sevendays;22and ifit spreadsfartheron the skin,then the priestshall pronouncehim unclean;it is an infection.23"But ifthe brightspotremainsin its placeand does not spread,it is [only] the scarof the boil;and the priestshall pronouncehim clean.
24"Orifthe bodysustainsin its skina burnby fire,and the raw[flesh] of the burnbecomesa brightspot,reddish-white,orwhite,25then the priestshall lookat it. And ifthe hairin the brightspothas turnedwhiteand it appearsto be deeperthanthe skin,it is leprosy;it has brokenout in the burn.Therefore, the priestshall pronouncehim unclean;it is an infectionof leprosy.26"But ifthe priestlooksat it, and indeed,thereis nowhitehairin the brightspotand it is nodeeperthanthe skin,but is dim,then the priestshall isolatehim for sevendays;27and the priestshall lookat him on the seventhday.Ifit spreadsfartherin the skin,then the priestshall pronouncehim unclean;it is an infectionof leprosy.28"But ifthe brightspotremainsin its placeand has not spreadin the skin,but is dim,it is the swellingfrom the burn;and the priestshall pronouncehim clean,for it is [only] the scarof the burn.
29"Now ifa manorwomanhasan infectionon the headoron the beard,30then the priestshall lookat the infection,and ifit appearsto be deeperthanthe skinand there is thinyellowishhairin it, then the priestshall pronouncehim unclean;it is a scale,it is leprosyof the headorof the beard.31"But ifthe priestlooksat the infectionof the scale,and indeed,it appearsto be nodeeperthanthe skinand thereis noblackhairin it, then the priestshall isolate[the person] with the scalyinfectionfor sevendays.32"On the seventhdaythe priestshall lookat the infection,and ifthe scalehas not spreadand noyellowishhairhas grownin it, and the appearanceof the scaleis nodeeperthanthe skin,33then he shall shavehimself, but he shall not shavethe scale;and the priestshall isolate[the person] with the scalesevenmoredays.34"Then on the seventhdaythe priestshall lookat the scale,and ifthe scalehas not spreadin the skinand it appearsto be nodeeperthanthe skin,the priestshall pronouncehim clean;and he shall washhis clothesand be clean.35"But ifthe scalespreadsfartherin the skinafterhis cleansing,36then the priestshall lookat him, and ifthe scalehas spreadin the skin,the priestneed not seekfor the yellowishhair;he is unclean.37"Ifin his sightthe scalehas remained,however, and blackhairhas grownin it, the scalehas healed,he is clean;and the priestshall pronouncehim clean.
38"Whena manora womanhasbrightspotson the skinof the body,[even] whitebrightspots,39then the priestshall look,and ifthe brightspotson the skinof their bodiesare a faintwhite,it is eczemathat has brokenout on the skin;he is clean.
40"Now ifa manlosesthe hairof his head,he is bald;he is clean.41"Ifhis headbecomesbaldat the frontand sides,he is baldon the forehead;he is clean.42"But ifon the baldheadorthe baldforehead,there occursa reddish-whiteinfection,it is leprosybreakingout on his baldheadoron his baldforehead.43"Then the priestshall lookat him; and ifthe swellingof the infectionis reddish-whiteon his baldheadoron his baldforehead,like the appearanceof leprosyin the skinof the body,44he is a leprousman,he is unclean.The priestshall surelypronouncehim unclean;his infectionis on his head.
45"As for the leperwhohas the infection,his clothesshall be torn,and the hair of his headshall be uncovered,and he shall coverhis mustacheand cry,Unclean!Unclean!'46"He shall remainuncleanallthe daysduring whichhe has the infection;he is unclean.He shall livealone;his dwellingshall be outsidethe camp.
47"Whena garmenthasa markof leprosyin it, whether it is a woolgarmentora linengarment,48whetherin warporwoof,of linenorof wool,whetherin leatherorin anyarticlemadeof leather,49if the markis greenishorreddishin the garmentorin the leather,orin the warporin the woof,orin anyarticleof leather,it is a leprousmarkand shall be shownto the priest.50"Then the priestshall lookat the markand shall quarantinethe article with the markfor sevendays.51"He shall then lookat the markon the seventhday;ifthe markhas spreadin the garment,whetherin the warporin the woof,orin the leather,whateverthe purposefor whichthe leatheris used,the markis a leprousmalignancy,it is unclean.52"So he shall burnthe garment,whetherthe warporthe woof,in woolorin linen,oranyarticleof leatherin whichthe markoccurs,for it is a leprousmalignancy;it shall be burnedin the fire.
53"But ifthe priestshall look,and indeedthe markhas not spreadin the garment,eitherin the warporin the woof,orin anyarticleof leather,54then the priestshall orderthem to washthe thing in whichthe markoccurs and he shall quarantineit for sevenmoredays.55"Afterthe article with the markhas been washed,the priestshall againlook,and ifthe markhas not changedits appearance,even though the markhas not spread,it is unclean;you shall burnit in the fire,whether an eatingawayhas produced barenesson the toporon the frontof it.
56"Then ifthe priestlooks,and ifthe markhas fadedafterit has been washed,then he shall tearit out of the garmentorout of the leather,whetherfrom the warporfrom the woof;57and ifit appearsagainin the garment,whetherin the warporin the woof,orin anyarticleof leather,it is an outbreak;the article with the markshall be burnedin the fire.58"The garment,whetherthe warporthe woof,oranyarticleof leatherfrom whichthe markhas departedwhen you washedit, it shall then be washeda secondtimeand will be clean."
59Thisis the lawfor the markof leprosyin a garmentof woolorlinen,whetherin the warporin the woof,orin anyarticleof leather,for pronouncingit cleanorunclean.
