Isaiah 51
NASB 1995 + Strong's

"Listento me, you who pursuerighteousness,Who seekthe LORD:Lookto the rockfrom which you were hewnAnd to the quarryfrom which you were dug.

"Lookto Abrahamyour fatherAnd to Sarahwho gavebirthto you in pain; When[he] [was but] oneI calledhim, Then I blessedhim and multipliedhim."

Indeed, the LORDwill comfortZion; He will comfortallher wasteplaces. And her wildernessHe will makelike Eden,And her desertlike the gardenof the LORD;Joyand gladnesswill be foundin her, Thanksgivingand soundof a melody.

"Payattentionto Me, O My people,And giveearto Me, O My nation; For a lawwill goforthfrom Me, And I will setMy justicefor a lightof the peoples.

"My righteousnessis near,My salvationhas goneforth,And My armswill judgethe peoples; The coastlandswill waitfor Me, And for My armthey will waitexpectantly.

"Liftup your eyesto the sky,Then lookto the earthbeneath; For the skywill vanishlike smoke,And the earthwill wearout like a garmentAnd its inhabitantswill diein likemanner; But My salvationwill be forever,And My righteousnesswill not wane.

"Listento Me, you who knowrighteousness,A peoplein whose heartis My law;Do not fearthe reproachof man,Norbe dismayedat their revilings.

"For the mothwill eatthem like a garment,And the grubwill eatthem like wool. But My righteousnesswill be forever,And My salvationto allgenerations."

Awake, awake, puton strength,O armof the LORD;Awakeas in the daysof old,the generationsof longago. Was it not You who cutRahabin pieces,Who piercedthe dragon?

Was it not You who driedup the sea,The watersof the greatdeep;Who madethe depthsof the seaa pathwayFor the redeemedto crossover?

So the ransomedof the LORDwill returnAnd comewith joyfulshoutingto Zion,And everlastingjoy[will be] on their heads. They will obtaingladnessand joy,And sorrowand sighingwill fleeaway.

"I, even I, am He who comfortsyou. Whoare you that you are afraidof manwho diesAnd of the sonof manwho is madelike grass,

That you have forgottenthe LORDyour Maker,Who stretchedout the heavensAnd laidthe foundationsof the earth,That you fearcontinuallyalldaylong becauseof the furyof the oppressor,As he makesreadyto destroy? But whereis the furyof the oppressor?

"The exilewill soonbe setfree, and will not diein the dungeon, norwill his breadbe lacking.15"For I am the LORDyour God,who stirsup the seaand its wavesroar(the LORDof hostsis His name).16"I have putMy wordsin your mouthand have coveredyou with the shadowof My hand,to establishthe heavens,to foundthe earth, and to sayto Zion,'You are My people.'"

Rouseyourself!Rouseyourself!Arise,O Jerusalem,You whohave drunkfrom the LORD'Shandthe cupof His anger; The chaliceof reelingyou have drainedto the dregs.

Thereis noneto guideher amongallthe sonsshe has borne,Noris thereoneto takeher by the handamongallthe sonsshe has reared.

Thesetwothingshave befallenyou; Whowill mournfor you? The devastationand destruction, famineand sword;Howshall I comfortyou?

Your sonshave fainted,They lie[helpless] at the headof everystreet,Like an antelopein a net,Fullof the wrathof the LORD,The rebukeof your God.

Therefore,pleasehearthis,you afflicted,Who are drunk,but not with wine:

Thussaysyour Lord, the LORD,even your GodWho contendsfor His people,"Behold,I have takenout of your handthe cupof reeling,The chaliceof My anger; You will neverdrinkit again.

"I will putit into the handof your tormentors,Whohave saidto you, 'Liedownthat we may walkover[you].' You have even madeyour backlike the groundAnd like the streetfor those who walkover[it]."
