1Then he ledme to the gate,the gatefacingtowardthe east;2and behold,the gloryof the Godof Israelwas comingfrom the wayof the east.And His voicewas like the soundof manywaters;and the earthshonewith His glory.3And [it was] like the appearanceof the visionwhichI saw,like the visionwhichI sawwhen He cameto destroythe city.And the visions[were] like the visionwhichI sawby the riverChebar;and I fellon my face.4And the gloryof the LORDcameinto the houseby the wayof the gatefacingtowardthe east.5And the Spiritliftedme up and broughtme into the innercourt;and behold,the gloryof the LORDfilledthe house.
6Then I heardone speakingto me from the house,while a manwas standingbesideme.7He saidto me, "Sonof man,[this is] the placeof My throneand the placeof the solesof My feet,whereI will dwellamongthe sonsof Israelforever.And the houseof Israelwill not againdefileMy holyname,neither they northeir kings,by their harlotryand by the corpsesof their kingswhen they die,8by settingtheir thresholdby My thresholdand their doorpostbesideMy doorpost,with [only] the wallbetweenMe and them. And they have defiledMy holynameby their abominationswhichthey have committed.So I have consumedthem in My anger.9"Nowlet them putawaytheir harlotryand the corpsesof their kingsfarfrom Me; and I will dwellamongthem forever.
10"As for you, sonof man,describethe templeto the houseof Israel,that they may be ashamedof their iniquities;and let them measurethe plan.11"Ifthey are ashamedof allthat they have done,makeknownto them the designof the house,its structure,its exits,its entrances,allits designs,allits statutes, and allits laws.And write[it] in their sight,so that they may observeits wholedesignand allits statutesand dothem.12"Thisis the lawof the house:its entireareaon the topof the mountainallaround[shall be] mostholy.Behold,thisis the lawof the house.
13"And theseare the measurementsof the altarby cubits(the cubitbeing a cubitand a handbreadth):the base[shall be] a cubitand the widtha cubit,and its borderon its edgeroundaboutonespan;and this[shall be] the [height] of the baseof the altar.14"From the baseon the groundto the lowerledge[shall be] twocubitsand the widthone cubit;and from the smallerledgeto the largerledge[shall be] fourcubitsand the widthonecubit.15"The altarhearth[shall be] fourcubits;and from the altarhearthshall extend upwardsfourhorns.16"Now the altarhearth[shall be] twelve[cubits] longby twelvewide,squarein its foursides.17"The ledge[shall be] fourteen[cubits] longby fourteenwidein its foursides,the borderaroundit [shall be] halfa cubitand its base[shall be] a cubitroundabout;and its stepsshall facethe east."
18And He saidto me, "Sonof man,thussaysthe LordGOD,'Theseare the statutesfor the altaron the dayit is built,to offerburntofferingson it and to sprinklebloodon it.19You shall giveto the Leviticalpriestswhoare from the offspringof Zadok,who drawnearto Me to ministerto Me,' declaresthe LordGOD,a youngbullfor a sinoffering.20You shall takesomeof its bloodand putit on its fourhornsand on the fourcornersof the ledgeand on the borderroundabout;thus you shall cleanseit and makeatonementfor it.21You shall also takethe bullfor the sinoffering,and it [shall be] burnedin the appointedplaceof the house,outsidethe sanctuary.
22On the seconddayyou shall offera malegoatwithoutblemishfor a sinoffering,and they shall cleansethe altaras they cleansed[it] with the bull.23When you have finishedcleansing[it], you shall presenta youngbullwithoutblemishand a ramwithoutblemishfrom the flock.24You shall presentthem beforethe LORD,and the priestsshall throwsalton them, and they shall offerthem up as a burntofferingto the LORD.25For sevendaysyou shall preparedailya goatfor a sinoffering;also a youngbulland a ramfrom the flock,withoutblemish,shall be prepared.26For sevendaysthey shall makeatonementfor the altarand purifyit; so shall they consecrateit.27When they have completedthe days,it shall be that on the eighthdayand onward,the priestsshall offeryour burntofferingson the altar,and your peaceofferings;and I will acceptyou,' declaresthe LordGOD."
