1In his daysNebuchadnezzarkingof Babyloncameup, and Jehoiakimbecamehis servant[for] threeyears;then he turnedand rebelledagainst him.2The LORDsentagainst him bandsof Chaldeans,bandsof Arameans,bandsof Moabites,and bandsof Ammonites.So He sentthem against Judahto destroyit, according to the wordof the LORDwhichHe had spokenthroughHis servantsthe prophets.3Surelyat the commandof the LORDit cameupon Judah,to remove[them] from His sightbecause of the sinsof Manasseh,according to allthat he had done,4and alsofor the innocentbloodwhichhe shed,for he filledJerusalemwith innocentblood;and the LORDwouldnot forgive.5Now the restof the actsof Jehoiakimand allthat he did,are they not writtenin the Bookof the Chroniclesof the Kingsof Judah?
6So Jehoiakimsleptwith his fathers,and Jehoiachinhis sonbecamekingin his place.7The kingof Egyptdidnot comeout of his landagain,for the kingof Babylonhad takenallthat belongedto the kingof Egyptfrom the brookof Egyptto the riverEuphrates.
8Jehoiachinwas eighteenyearsoldwhen he becameking,and he reignedthreemonthsin Jerusalem;and his mother'sname[was] Nehushtathe daughterof Elnathanof Jerusalem.9He didevilin the sightof the LORD,according to allthat his fatherhad done.
10At that timethe servantsof Nebuchadnezzarkingof Babylonwentup to Jerusalem,and the citycameunder siege.11And Nebuchadnezzarthe kingof Babyloncameto the city,while his servantswere besiegingit.12Jehoiachinthe kingof Judahwentout to the kingof Babylon,he and his motherand his servantsand his captainsand his officials.So the kingof Babylontookhim captive in the eighthyearof his reign.13He carriedout from thereallthe treasuresof the houseof the LORD,and the treasuresof the king'shouse,and cutin piecesallthe vesselsof goldwhichSolomonkingof Israelhad madein the templeof the LORD,justas the LORDhad said.14Then he ledawayinto exileallJerusalemand allthe captainsand allthe mightymenof valor,tenthousandcaptives,and allthe craftsmenand the smiths.Noneremainedexceptthe poorestpeopleof the land.
15So he ledJehoiachinawayinto exileto Babylon;also the king'smotherand the king'swivesand his officialsand the leadingmenof the land,he ledaway into exilefrom Jerusalemto Babylon.16Allthe menof valor,seventhousand,and the craftsmenand the smiths,one thousand,allstrongand fitfor war,and these the kingof Babylonbroughtinto exileto Babylon.
17Then the kingof Babylonmadehis uncleMattaniahkingin his place,and changedhis nameto Zedekiah.
18Zedekiahwas twenty-oneyearsoldwhen he becameking,and he reignedelevenyearsin Jerusalem;and his mother'snamewas Hamutalthe daughterof Jeremiahof Libnah.19He didevilin the sightof the LORD,according to allthat Jehoiakimhad done.20For throughthe angerof the LORD[this] cameabout in Jerusalemand JudahuntilHe castthem out from His presence.And Zedekiahrebelledagainst the kingof Babylon.
