Jerusalem will Be Attacked
1The burdenof the wordof the LORDfor Israel,saiththe LORD,which stretchethforth the heavens,and layeth the foundationof the earth,and formeththe spiritof manwithinhim.
2Behold, I will makeJerusalema cupof tremblingunto all the peopleround about,when they shall be in the siegeboth against Judah[and] against Jerusalem.3And in that daywill I makeJerusalema burdensomestonefor all people:all that burdenthemselves with it shall be cut in pieces,though all the peopleof the earthbe gathered togetheragainst it.4In that day,saiththe LORD,I will smiteevery horsewith astonishment,and his riderwith madness:and I will openmine eyesupon the houseof Judah,and will smiteevery horseof the peoplewith blindness.5And the governorsof Judahshall sayin their heart,The inhabitantsof Jerusalem[shall be] my strengthin the LORDof hoststheir God.
6In that daywill I makethe governorsof Judahlike an hearthof fireamong the wood,and like a torchof firein a sheaf;and they shall devourall the peopleround about,on the right handand on the left:and Jerusalemshall be inhabitedagain in her own place, [even] in Jerusalem.7The LORDalso shall savethe tentsof Judahfirst,that the gloryof the houseof Davidand the gloryof the inhabitantsof Jerusalemdo not magnify[themselves] against Judah.8In that dayshall the LORDdefendthe inhabitantsof Jerusalem;and he that is feebleamong them at that dayshall be as David;and the houseof David[shall be] as God,as the angelof the LORDbeforethem.9And it shall come to pass in that day,[that] I will seekto destroyall the nationsthat comeagainst Jerusalem.
Mourning the One they Pierced
(John 19:31-37)
10And I will pourupon the houseof David,and upon the inhabitantsof Jerusalem,the spiritof graceand of supplications:and they shall lookupon me whom they have pierced,and they shall mournfor him, as one mournethfor [his] only[son], and shall be in bitternessfor him, as one that is in bitternessfor [his] firstborn.11In that dayshall there be a greatmourningin Jerusalem,as the mourningof Hadadrimmonin the valleyof Megiddon.12And the landshall mourn,everyfamilyapart;the familyof the houseof Davidapart, and their wivesapart; the familyof the houseof Nathanapart, and their wivesapart;13The familyof the houseof Leviapart, and their wivesapart; the familyof Shimeiapart, and their wivesapart;14All the familiesthat remain,every familyapart, and their wivesapart.
