Judah and Israel will Be Restored
1Askye of the LORDrainin the timeof the latter rain;[so] the LORDshall makebright clouds,and givethem showersof rain,to every onegrassin the field.
2For the idolshave spokenvanity,and the divinershave seena lie,and have toldFALSEdreams;they comfortin vain:therefore they wenttheir way as a flock,they were troubled,because [there was] no shepherd.
3Mine angerwas kindledagainst the shepherds,and I punishedthe goats:for the LORDof hostshath visitedhis flockthe houseof Judah,and hath madethem as his goodlyhorsein the battle.
4Out of him came forththe corner,out of him the nail,out of him the battlebow,out of him every oppressortogether.
5And they shall be as mighty[men], which tread down[their enemies] in the mireof the streetsin the battle:and they shall fight,because the LORD[is] with them, and the riderson horsesshall be confounded.
6And I will strengthenthe houseof Judah,and I will savethe houseof Joseph,and I will bring them again to placethem; for I have mercyupon them: and they shall be as thoughI had not cast them off:for I [am] the LORDtheir God,and will hearthem.
7And [they of] Ephraimshall be like a mighty[man], and their heartshall rejoiceas through wine:yea, their childrenshall see[it], and be glad;their heartshall rejoicein the LORD.
8I will hissfor them, and gatherthem; for I have redeemedthem: and they shall increaseas they have increased.
9And I will sowthem among the people:and they shall rememberme in far countries;and they shall livewith their children,and turn again.
10I will bring them againalso out of the landof Egypt,and gatherthem out of Assyria;and I will bringthem into the landof Gileadand Lebanon;and [place] shall not be foundfor them.
11And he shall pass throughthe seawith affliction,and shall smitethe wavesin the sea,and all the deepsof the rivershall dry up:and the prideof Assyriashall be brought down,and the sceptreof Egyptshall depart away.
12And I will strengthenthem in the LORD;and they shall walk up and downin his name,saiththe LORD.
