1By nighton my bedI soughthim whom my soulloveth:I soughthim, but I foundhim not.

2I will risenow, and go aboutthe cityin the streets,and in the broad waysI will seekhim whom my soulloveth:I soughthim, but I foundhim not.

3The watchmenthat go aboutthe cityfoundme: [to whom I said], Sawye him whom my soulloveth?

4[It was] but a littlethat I passedfrom them, but I foundhim whom my soulloveth:I heldhim, and would not let him go,until I had broughthim into my mother'shouse,and into the chamberof her that conceivedme.

5I chargeyou, O ye daughtersof Jerusalem,by the roes,andby the hindsof the field,that ye stir not up,nor awake[my] love,till he please.

6Who [is] this that comethout of the wildernesslike pillarsof smoke,perfumedwith myrrhand frankincense,with all powdersof the merchant?

7Behold his bed,which [is] Solomon's;threescorevaliantmen [are] aboutit, of the valiantof Israel.

8They all holdswords,[being] expertin war:every man[hath] his swordupon his thighbecause of fearin the night.

9KingSolomonmadehimself a chariotof the woodof Lebanon.

10He madethe pillarsthereof [of] silver,the bottomthereof [of] gold,the coveringof it [of] purple,the midstthereof being paved[with] love,for the daughtersof Jerusalem.

11Go forth,O ye daughtersof Zion,and beholdkingSolomonwith the crownwherewith his mothercrownedhim in the dayof his espousals,and in the dayof the gladnessof his heart.
