The King's Heart is in the Lord's Hand
(Psalm 21:1-13)
1The king'sheart[is] in the handof the LORD,[as] the riversof water:he turnethit whithersoever he will.
2Every wayof a man[is] rightin his own eyes:but the LORDpondereththe hearts.
3To dojusticeand judgment[is] more acceptableto the LORDthan sacrifice.
4An highlook,and a proudheart,[and] the plowingof the wicked,[is] sin.
5The thoughtsof the diligent[tend] only to plenteousness;but of every one [that is] hastyonly to want.
6The gettingof treasuresby a lyingtongue[is] a vanitytossed to and fro ofthem that seekdeath.
7The robberyof the wickedshall destroythem; because they refuseto dojudgment.
8The wayof man[is] frowardand strange:but [as for] the pure,his work[is] right.
9[It is] betterto dwellin a cornerof the housetop,than with a brawlingwomanin a widehouse.
10The soulof the wickeddesirethevil:his neighbourfindeth no favourin his eyes.
11When the scorneris punished,the simpleis made wise:and when the wiseis instructed,he receivethknowledge.
12The righteous[man] wisely considereththe houseof the wicked:[but God] overthroweththe wickedfor [their] wickedness.
13Whoso stoppethhis earsat the cryof the poor,he also shall cryhimself, but shall not be heard.
14A giftin secretpacifiethanger:and a rewardin the bosomstrongwrath.
15[It is] joyto the justto dojudgment:but destruction[shall be] to the workersof iniquity.
16The manthat wanderethout of the wayof understandingshall remainin the congregationof the dead.
17He that lovethpleasure[shall be] a poorman:he that lovethwineand oilshall not be rich.
18The wicked[shall be] a ransomfor the righteous,and the transgressorfor the upright.
19[It is] betterto dwellin the wilderness,than with a contentiousand an angrywoman.
20[There is] treasureto be desiredand oilin the dwellingof the wise;but a foolishmanspendeth it up.
21He that followethafter righteousnessand mercyfindethlife,righteousness,and honour.
22A wise[man] scaleththe cityof the mighty,and casteth downthe strengthof the confidencethereof.
23Whoso keepethhis mouthand his tonguekeepethhis soulfrom troubles.
24Proud[and] haughtyscorner[is] his name,who dealethin proudwrath.
25The desireof the slothfulkillethhim; for his handsrefuseto labour.
26He covetethgreedilyall the daylong: but the righteousgivethand sparethnot.
27The sacrificeof the wicked[is] abomination:how much more, [when] he bringethit with a wicked mind?
28A FALSEwitnessshall perish:but the manthat hearethspeakethconstantly.
29A wickedmanhardenethhis face:but [as for] the upright,he directeth{08675;03559:08686} his way.
30[There is] no wisdomnor understandingnor counselagainst the LORD.
31The horse[is] preparedagainst the dayof battle:but safety[is] of the LORD.
