Zelophehad's Daughters Marry
(Numbers 27:1-5)
1And the chieffathersof the familiesof the childrenof Gilead,the sonof Machir,the sonof Manasseh,of the familiesof the sonsof Joseph,came near,and spakebeforeMoses,and beforethe princes,the chieffathersof the childrenof Israel:2And they said,The LORDcommandedmy lordto givethe landfor an inheritanceby lotto the childrenof Israel:and my lordwas commandedby the LORDto givethe inheritanceof Zelophehadour brotherunto his daughters.3And if they be marriedto anyof the sonsof the [other] tribesof the childrenof Israel,then shall their inheritancebe takenfrom the inheritanceof our fathers,and shall be putto the inheritanceof the tribewhereunto they are received: so shall it be takenfrom the lotof our inheritance.4And when the jubileof the childrenof Israelshall be, then shall their inheritancebe putunto the inheritanceof the tribewhereunto they are received: so shall their inheritancebe taken awayfrom the inheritanceof the tribeof our fathers.
5And Mosescommandedthe childrenof Israelaccording to the wordof the LORD,saying,The tribeof the sonsof Josephhath saidwell.6This [is] the thingwhich the LORDdoth commandconcerning the daughtersof Zelophehad,saying,Let them marryto whom they thinkbest;only to the familyof the tribeof their fathershall they marry.7So shall not the inheritanceof the childrenof Israelremovefrom tribeto tribe:for every oneof the childrenof Israelshall keephimself to the inheritanceof the tribeof his fathers.8And every daughter,that possessethan inheritancein any tribeof the childrenof Israel,shall be wifeunto oneof the familyof the tribeof her father,that the childrenof Israelmay enjoyevery manthe inheritanceof his fathers.9Neither shall the inheritanceremovefrom [one] tribeto anothertribe;but every oneof the tribesof the childrenof Israelshall keephimself to his own inheritance.
10Even as the LORDcommandedMoses,so didthe daughtersof Zelophehad:11For Mahlah,Tirzah,and Hoglah,and Milcah,and Noah,the daughtersof Zelophehad,were marriedunto their father'sbrothers' sons:12[And] they were marriedinto the familiesof the sonsof Manassehthe sonof Joseph,and their inheritanceremained in the tribeof the familyof their father.
13These [are] the commandmentsand the judgments,which the LORDcommandedby the handof Mosesunto the childrenof Israelin the plainsof Moabby Jordan[near] Jericho.
