KJV + Strong's Balaam's First Oracle 1And Balaamsaidunto Balak,Buildme here sevenaltars,and prepareme here sevenoxenand sevenrams.2And Balakdidas Balaamhad spoken;and Balakand Balaamofferedon [every] altara bullockand a ram.3And Balaamsaidunto Balak,Standby thy burnt offering,and I will go:peradventure the LORDwill cometo meetme: and whatsoeverhe shewethme I will tellthee. And he wentto an high place. 4And GodmetBalaam:and he saidunto him, I have preparedsevenaltars,and I have offeredupon [every] altara bullockand a ram.5And the LORDputa wordin Balaam'smouth,and said,Returnunto Balak,and thus thou shalt speak.6And he returnedunto him, and, lo, he stoodby his burnt sacrifice,he, and all the princesof Moab. 7And he took uphis parable,and said,Balakthe kingof Moabhath broughtme from Aram,out of the mountainsof the east,[saying], Come,curseme Jacob,and come,defyIsrael. 8Howshall I curse,whom Godhath not cursed?or how shall I defy,[whom] the LORDhath not defied? 9For from the topof the rocksI seehim, and from the hillsI beholdhim: lo, the peopleshall dwellalone,and shall not be reckonedamong the nations. 10Who can countthe dustof Jacob,and the numberof the fourth[part] of Israel?Let me diethe deathof the righteous,and let my lastend be like his! 11And Balaksaidunto Balaam,What hast thou doneunto me? I tookthee to cursemine enemies,and, behold, thou hast blessed[them] altogether.12And he answeredand said,Must I not take heedto speakthat which the LORDhath putin my mouth? Balaam's Second Oracle 13And Balaksaidunto him, Come,I pray thee, with me unto anotherplace,from whence thou mayest seethem: thou shalt seebutthe utmostpart of them, and shalt not seethem all: and curseme them from thence.14And he broughthim into the fieldof Zophim,to the topof Pisgah,and builtsevenaltars,and offereda bullockand a ramon [every] altar.15And he saidunto Balak,Standhereby thy burnt offering,while I meet[the LORD] yonder.16And the LORDmetBalaam,and puta wordin his mouth,and said,Go againunto Balak,and saythus.17And when he cameto him, behold, he stoodby his burnt offering,and the princesof Moabwith him. And Balaksaidunto him, What hath the LORDspoken? 18And he took uphis parable,and said,Rise up,Balak,and hear;hearkenunto me, thou sonof Zippor: 19God[is] not a man,that he should lie;neither the sonof man,that he should repent:hath he said,and shall he not do[it]? or hath he spoken,and shall he not make it good? 20Behold, I have received[commandment] to bless:and he hath blessed;and I cannot reverseit. 21He hath not beheldiniquityin Jacob,neither hath he seenperversenessin Israel:the LORDhis God[is] with him, and the shoutof a king[is] among them. 22Godbrought them outof Egypt;he hath as it were the strengthof an unicorn. 23Surely [there is] no enchantmentagainst Jacob,neither [is there] any divinationagainst Israel:according to this timeit shall be saidof Jacoband of Israel,What hath Godwrought! 24Behold, the peopleshall rise upas a great lion,and lift uphimself as a young lion:he shall not lie downuntil he eat[of] the prey,and drinkthe bloodof the slain. 25And Balaksaidunto Balaam,Neither cursethem at all,nor blessthem at all.26But Balaamansweredand saidunto Balak,Toldnot I thee, saying,All that the LORDspeaketh,that I must do? 27And Balaksaidunto Balaam,Come,I pray thee, I will bringthee unto anotherplace;peradventure it will pleaseGodthat thou mayest curseme them from thence.28And BalakbroughtBalaamunto the topof Peor,that lookethtowardJeshimon.29And Balaamsaidunto Balak,Buildme here sevenaltars,and prepareme here sevenbullocksand sevenrams.30And Balakdidas Balaamhad said,and offereda bullockand a ramon [every] altar. |
