Ashes of the Red Heifer
1And the LORDspakeunto Mosesand unto Aaron,saying,2This [is] the ordinanceof the lawwhich the LORDhath commanded,saying,Speakunto the childrenof Israel,that they bringthee a redheiferwithout spot,wherein [is] no blemish,[and] upon which nevercameyoke:3And ye shall giveher unto Eleazarthe priest,that he may bring her forthwithoutthe camp,and [one] shall slayher beforehis face:4And Eleazarthe priestshall takeof her bloodwith his finger,and sprinkleof her blooddirectlybeforethe tabernacleof the congregationseventimes:5And [one] shall burnthe heiferin his sight;her skin,and her flesh,and her blood,with her dung,shall he burn:6And the priestshall takecedarwood,and hyssop,and scarlet,and cast[it] into the midstof the burningof the heifer.7Then the priestshall washhis clothes,and he shall bathehis fleshin water,and afterwardhe shall comeinto the camp,and the priestshall be uncleanuntil the even.8And he that burnethher shall washhis clothesin water,and bathehis fleshin water,and shall be uncleanuntil the even.9And a man[that is] cleanshall gatherup the ashesof the heifer,and lay [them] upwithoutthe campin a cleanplace,and it shall be keptfor the congregationof the childrenof Israelfor a waterof separation:it [is] a purification for sin.10And he that gathereththe ashesof the heifershall washhis clothes,and be uncleanuntil the even:and it shall be unto the childrenof Israel,and unto the strangerthat sojournethamongthem, for a statutefor ever.
Purification of the Unclean
11He that toucheththe deadbodyof any manshall be uncleansevendays.12He shall purifyhimself with it on the thirdday,and on the seventhdayhe shall be clean:but if he purifynot himself the thirdday,then the seventhdayhe shall not be clean.13Whosoever toucheththe deadbodyof any manthat is dead,and purifiethnot himself, defileththe tabernacleof the LORD;and that soulshall be cut offfrom Israel:because the waterof separationwas not sprinkledupon him, he shall be unclean;his uncleanness[is] yet upon him.
14This [is] the law,when a mandiethin a tent:all that comeinto the tent,and all that [is] in the tent,shall be uncleansevendays.15And every openvessel,which hath no coveringboundupon it, [is] unclean.16And whosoever touchethone that is slainwith a swordin the openfields,or a dead body,or a boneof a man,or a grave,shall be uncleansevendays.17And for an unclean[person] they shall takeof the ashesof the burnt heiferof purification for sin,and runningwatershall be putthereto in a vessel:18And a cleanpersonshall takehyssop,and dip[it] in the water,and sprinkle[it] upon the tent,and upon all the vessels,and upon the personsthat were there, and upon him that toucheda bone,or one slain,or one dead,or a grave:19And the clean[person] shall sprinkleupon the uncleanon the thirdday,and on the seventhday:and on the seventhdayhe shall purifyhimself, and washhis clothes,and bathehimself in water,and shall be cleanat even.
20But the manthat shall be unclean,and shall not purifyhimself, that soulshall be cut offfrom amongthe congregation,because he hath defiledthe sanctuaryof the LORD:the waterof separationhath not been sprinkledupon him; he [is] unclean.21And it shall be a perpetualstatuteunto them, that he that sprinkleththe waterof separationshall washhis clothes;and he that toucheththe waterof separationshall be uncleanuntil even.22And whatsoever the unclean[person] touchethshall be unclean;and the soulthat toucheth[it] shall be uncleanuntil even.
