KJV + Strong's Duties of Priests and Levites 1And the LORDsaidunto Aaron,Thou and thy sonsand thy father'shousewith thee shall bearthe iniquityof the sanctuary:and thou and thy sonswith thee shall bearthe iniquityof your priesthood.2And thy brethrenalso of the tribeof Levi,the tribeof thy father,bringthou with thee, that they may be joinedunto thee, and ministerunto thee: but thou and thy sonswith thee [shall minister] beforethe tabernacleof witness.3And they shall keepthy charge,and the chargeof all the tabernacle:only they shall not come nighthe vesselsof the sanctuaryand the altar,that neither they, nor ye also, die.4And they shall be joinedunto thee, and keepthe chargeof the tabernacleof the congregation,for all the serviceof the tabernacle:and a strangershall not come nighunto you.5And ye shall keepthe chargeof the sanctuary,and the chargeof the altar:that there be no wrathany more upon the childrenof Israel.6And I, behold, I have takenyour brethrenthe Levitesfrom amongthe childrenof Israel:to you [they are] given[as] a giftfor the LORD,to dothe serviceof the tabernacleof the congregation.7Therefore thou and thy sonswith thee shall keepyour priest's officefor every thingof the altar,and withinthe vail;and ye shall serve:I have givenyour priest's office[unto you] as a serviceof gift:and the strangerthat cometh nighshall be put to death. The Priests' Portion 8And the LORDspakeunto Aaron,Behold, I also have giventhee the chargeof mine heave offeringsof all the hallowed thingsof the childrenof Israel;unto thee have I giventhem by reason of the anointing,and to thy sons,by an ordinancefor ever.9This shall be thine of the mostholy things,[reserved] from the fire:every oblationof theirs, every meat offeringof theirs, and every sin offeringof theirs, and every trespass offeringof theirs, which they shall renderunto me, [shall be] mostholyfor thee and for thy sons.10In the mostholy[place] shalt thou eatit; every maleshall eatit: it shall be holyunto thee.11And this [is] thine; the heave offeringof their gift,with all the wave offeringsof the childrenof Israel:I have giventhem unto thee, and to thy sonsand to thy daughterswith thee, by a statutefor ever:every one that is cleanin thy houseshall eatof it.12All the bestof the oil,and all the bestof the wine,and of the wheat,the firstfruitsof them which they shall offerunto the LORD,them have I giventhee.13[And] whatsoever is first ripein the land,which they shall bringunto the LORD,shall be thine; every one that is cleanin thine houseshall eat[of] it.14Every thing devotedin Israelshall be thine.15Every thing that openeththe matrixin all flesh,which they bringunto the LORD,[whether it be] of menor beasts,shall be thine: nevertheless the firstbornof manshalt thou surelyredeem,and the firstlingof uncleanbeastsshalt thou redeem.16And those that are to be redeemedfrom a montholdshalt thou redeem,according to thine estimation,for the moneyof fiveshekels,after the shekelof the sanctuary,which [is] twentygerahs.17But the firstlingof a cow,or the firstlingof a sheep,or the firstlingof a goat,thou shalt not redeem;they [are] holy:thou shalt sprinkletheir bloodupon the altar,and shalt burntheir fat[for] an offering made by fire,for a sweetsavourunto the LORD.18And the fleshof them shall be thine, as the wavebreastand as the rightshoulderare thine.19All the heave offeringsof the holy things,which the childrenof Israelofferunto the LORD,have I giventhee, and thy sonsand thy daughterswith thee, by a statutefor ever:it [is] a covenantof saltfor everbeforethe LORDunto thee and to thy seedwith thee.20And the LORDspakeunto Aaron,Thou shalt have no inheritancein their land,neither shalt thou have any partamongthem: I [am] thy partand thine inheritanceamongthe childrenof Israel. The Levites' Portion 21And, behold, I have giventhe childrenof Leviall the tenthin Israelfor an inheritance,fortheir servicewhich they serve,[even] the serviceof the tabernacleof the congregation.22Neither must the childrenof Israelhenceforthcome nighthe tabernacleof the congregation,lest they bearsin,and die.23But the Levitesshall dothe serviceof the tabernacleof the congregation,and they shall beartheir iniquity:[it shall be] a statutefor everthroughout your generations,that amongthe childrenof Israelthey haveno inheritance.24But the tithesof the childrenof Israel,which they offer[as] an heave offeringunto the LORD,I have givento the Levitesto inherit:therefore I have saidunto them, Amongthe childrenof Israelthey shall haveno inheritance. The Heave Offering 25And the LORDspakeunto Moses,saying,26Thus speakunto the Levites,and sayunto them, When ye takeof the childrenof Israelthe titheswhich I have givenyou from them for your inheritance,then ye shall offerup an heave offeringof it for the LORD,[even] a tenth[part] of the tithe.27And [this] your heave offeringshall be reckonedunto you, as though [it were] the cornof the threshingfloor,and as the fulnessof the winepress.28Thus ye also shall offeran heave offeringunto the LORDof all your tithes,which ye receiveof the childrenof Israel;and ye shall givethereof the LORD'Sheave offeringto Aaronthe priest.29Out of all your giftsye shall offerevery heave offeringof the LORD,of all the bestthereof, [even] the hallowed partthereof out of it.30Therefore thou shalt sayunto them, When ye have heavedthe bestthereof from it, then it shall be countedunto the Levitesas the increaseof the threshingfloor,and as the increaseof the winepress.31And ye shall eatit in every place,ye and your households:for it [is] your rewardforyour servicein the tabernacleof the congregation.32And ye shall bearno sinby reason of it, when ye have heavedfrom it the bestof it: neither shall ye pollutethe holy thingsof the childrenof Israel,lest ye die. |
