The Two Silver Trumpets
1And the LORDspakeunto Moses,saying,2Makethee twotrumpetsof silver;of a whole pieceshalt thou makethem: that thou mayest usethem for the callingof the assembly,and for the journeyingof the camps.3And when they shall blowwith them,all the assemblyshall assemblethemselves to thee at the doorof the tabernacleof the congregation.4And if they blow[but] with one[trumpet], then the princes,[which are] headsof the thousandsof Israel,shall gatherthemselves unto thee.5When ye blowan alarm,then the campsthat lieon the east partsshall go forward.6When ye blowan alarmthe second time,then the campsthat lieon the south sideshall take their journey:they shall blowan alarmfor their journeys.7But when the congregationis to be gathered together,ye shall blow,but ye shall not sound an alarm.8And the sonsof Aaron,the priests,shall blowwith the trumpets;and they shall be to you for an ordinancefor everthroughout your generations.9And if ye goto warin your landagainstthe enemy that oppressethyou, then ye shall blow an alarmwith the trumpets;and ye shall be rememberedbeforethe LORDyour God,and ye shall be savedfrom your enemies.10Also in the dayof your gladness,and in your solemn days,and in the beginningsof your months,ye shall blowwith the trumpetsover your burnt offerings,and over the sacrificesof your peace offerings;that they may be to you for a memorialbeforeyour God:I [am] the LORDyour God.
Moving from Sinai to Paran
11And it came to pass on the twentieth[day] of the secondmonth,in the secondyear,that the cloudwas taken upfrom off the tabernacleof the testimony.12And the childrenof Israeltooktheir journeysout of the wildernessof Sinai;and the cloudrestedin the wildernessof Paran.13And they firsttook their journeyaccording to the commandmentof the LORDby the handof Moses.14In the first[place] wentthe standardof the campof the childrenof Judahaccording to their armies:and over his host [was] Nahshonthe sonof Amminadab.15And over the hostof the tribeof the childrenof Issachar[was] Nethaneelthe sonof Zuar.16And over the hostof the tribeof the childrenof Zebulun[was] Eliabthe sonof Helon.
17And the tabernaclewas taken down;and the sonsof Gershonand the sonsof Merariset forward,bearingthe tabernacle.18And the standardof the campof Reubenset forwardaccording to their armies:and over his host[was] Elizurthe sonof Shedeur.19And over the hostof the tribeof the childrenof Simeon[was] Shelumielthe sonof Zurishaddai.20And over the hostof the tribeof the childrenof Gad[was] Eliasaphthe sonof Deuel.
21And the Kohathitesset forward,bearingthe sanctuary:and [the other] did set upthe tabernacleagainst they came.22And the standardof the campof the childrenof Ephraimset forwardaccording to their armies:and over his host[was] Elishamathe sonof Ammihud.23And over the hostof the tribeof the childrenof Manasseh[was] Gamalielthe sonof Pedahzur.24And over the hostof the tribeof the childrenof Benjamin[was] Abidanthe sonof Gideoni.
25And the standardof the campof the childrenof Danset forward,[which was] the rerewardof all the campsthroughout their hosts:and over his host[was] Ahiezerthe sonof Ammishaddai.26And over the hostof the tribeof the childrenof Asher[was] Pagielthe sonof Ocran.27And over the hostof the tribeof the childrenof Naphtali[was] Ahirathe sonof Enan.28Thus [were]the journeyingsof the childrenof Israelaccording to their armies,when they set forward.
29And Mosessaidunto Hobab,the sonof Raguelthe Midianite,Moses'father in law,We are journeyingunto the placeof which the LORDsaid,I will giveit you: comethou with us, and we will do thee good:for the LORDhath spokengoodconcerning Israel.30And he saidunto him, I will not go;but I will departto mine own land,and to my kindred.31And he said,Leaveus not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowesthow we are to encampin the wilderness,and thou mayest be to us instead of eyes.32And it shall be, if thou gowith us, yea, it shall be, that what goodnessthe LORDshall dounto us, the same will we dounto thee.
33And they departedfrom the mountof the LORDthreedays'journey:and the arkof the covenantof the LORDwentbeforethem in the threedays'journey,to search outa resting placefor them.34And the cloudof the LORD[was] upon them by day,when they went outof the camp.
35And it came to pass, when the arkset forward,that Mosessaid,Rise up,LORD,and let thine enemiesbe scattered;and let them that hatethee fleebeforethee.
36And when it rested,he said,Return,O LORD,unto the manythousandsof Israel.
