1Then Eliashibthe highpriestrose upwith his brethrenthe priests,and they buildedthe sheepgate;they sanctifiedit, and set upthe doorsof it; even unto the towerof Meahthey sanctifiedit, unto the towerof Hananeel.2And next unto himbuildedthe menof Jericho.And next to them buildedZaccurthe sonof Imri.
3But the fishgatedid the sonsof Hassenaahbuild,who [also] laid the beamsthereof, and set upthe doorsthereof, the locksthereof, and the barsthereof.4And next unto themrepairedMeremoththe sonof Urijah,the sonof Koz.And next unto themrepairedMeshullamthe sonof Berechiah,the sonof Meshezabeel.And next unto themrepairedZadokthe sonof Baana.5And next unto themthe Tekoitesrepaired;but their noblesputnot their necksto the workof their Lord.
6Moreover the oldgaterepairedJehoiadathe sonof Paseah,and Meshullamthe sonof Besodeiah;they laid the beamsthereof, and set upthe doorsthereof, and the locksthereof, and the barsthereof.7And next unto themrepairedMelatiahthe Gibeonite,and Jadonthe Meronothite,the menof Gibeon,and of Mizpah,unto the throneof the governoron this sidethe river.8Next unto himrepairedUzzielthe sonof Harhaiah,of the goldsmiths.Next unto himalso repairedHananiahthe sonof [one of] the apothecaries,and they fortifiedJerusalemunto the broadwall.9And next unto themrepairedRephaiahthe sonof Hur,the rulerof the halfpartof Jerusalem.10And next unto themrepairedJedaiahthe sonof Harumaph,even over against his house.And next unto himrepairedHattushthe sonof Hashabniah.11Malchijahthe sonof Harim,and Hashubthe sonof Pahathmoab,repairedthe otherpiece,and the towerof the furnaces.12And next unto himrepairedShallumthe sonof Halohesh,the rulerof the halfpartof Jerusalem,he and his daughters.
13The valleygaterepairedHanun,and the inhabitantsof Zanoah;they builtit, and set upthe doorsthereof, the locksthereof, and the barsthereof, and a thousandcubitson the wallunto the dunggate.
14But the dunggaterepairedMalchiahthe sonof Rechab,the rulerof partof Bethhaccerem;he builtit, and set upthe doorsthereof, the locksthereof, and the barsthereof.
15But the gateof the fountainrepairedShallunthe sonof Colhozeh,the rulerof partof Mizpah;he builtit, and coveredit, and set upthe doorsthereof, the locksthereof, and the barsthereof, and the wallof the poolof Siloahby the king'sgarden,and unto the stairsthat go downfrom the cityof David.16Afterhim repairedNehemiahthe sonof Azbuk,the rulerof the halfpartof Bethzur,unto [the place] over against the sepulchresof David,and to the poolthat was made,and unto the houseof the mighty.17Afterhim repairedthe Levites,Rehumthe sonof Bani.Next unto himrepairedHashabiah,the rulerof the halfpartof Keilah,in his part.18Afterhim repairedtheir brethren,Bavaithe sonof Henadad,the rulerof the halfpartof Keilah.19And next to himrepairedEzerthe sonof Jeshua,the rulerof Mizpah,anotherpieceover against the going upto the armouryat the turning[of the wall].20Afterhim Baruchthe sonof Zabbaiearnestlyrepairedthe otherpiece,from the turning[of the wall] unto the doorof the houseof Eliashibthe highpriest.21Afterhim repairedMeremoththe sonof Urijahthe sonof Kozanotherpiece,from the doorof the houseof Eliashibeven to the endof the houseof Eliashib.22And afterhim repairedthe priests,the menof the plain.23Afterhim repairedBenjaminand Hashubover against their house.Afterhim repairedAzariahthe sonof Maaseiahthe sonof Ananiahbyhis house.24Afterhim repairedBinnuithe sonof Henadadanotherpiece,from the houseof Azariahunto the turning[of the wall], even unto the corner.25Palalthe sonof Uzai,over against the turning[of the wall], and the towerwhich lieth outfrom the king'shighhouse,that [was] by the courtof the prison.Afterhim Pedaiahthe sonof Parosh.26Moreover the Nethinimsdweltin Ophel,unto [the place] over against the watergatetoward the east,and the towerthat lieth out.27Afterthem the Tekoitesrepairedanotherpiece,over against the greattowerthat lieth out,even unto the wallof Ophel.
28From above the horsegaterepairedthe priests,every oneover againsthis house.29Afterthem repairedZadokthe sonof Immerover against his house.Afterhim repairedalso Shemaiahthe sonof Shechaniah,the keeperof the eastgate.30Afterhim repairedHananiahthe sonof Shelemiah,and Hanunthe sixthsonof Zalaph,anotherpiece.Afterhim repairedMeshullamthe sonof Berechiahover against his chamber.31Afterhim repairedMalchiahthe goldsmith'ssonunto the placeof the Nethinims,and of the merchants,over against the gateMiphkad,and to the going upof the corner.32And between the going upof the cornerunto the sheepgaterepairedthe goldsmithsand the merchants.
