Woe to the Oppressors
1Woeto them that deviseiniquity,and workevilupon their beds!when the morningis light,they practiseit, because it isin the powerof their hand.
2And they covetfields,and take [them] by violence;and houses,and take [them] away:so they oppressa manand his house,even a manand his heritage.
3Therefore thus saiththe LORD;Behold, against this familydo I devisean evil,from which ye shall not removeyour necks;neither shall ye gohaughtily:for this time[is] evil.
4In that dayshall [one] take upa parableagainst you, and lamentwith a dolefullamentation,[and] say,We be utterlyspoiled:he hath changedthe portionof my people:how hath he removed[it] from me! turning awayhe hath dividedour fields.
5Therefore thou shalt have none that shall casta cordby lotin the congregationof the LORD.
The False Prophets
6Prophesyye not, [say they to them that] prophesy:they shall not prophesyto them, [that] they shall not takeshame.
7O [thou that art] namedthe houseof Jacob,is the spiritof the LORDstraitened?[are] these his doings?do not my wordsdo goodto him that walkethuprightly?
8Even of latemy peopleis risen upas an enemy:ye pull offthe robewiththe garmentfrom them that passby securelyas men aversefrom war.
9The womenof my peoplehave ye cast outfrom their pleasanthouses;from their childrenhave ye taken awaymy gloryfor ever.
10Ariseye, and depart;for this [is] not [your] rest:because it is polluted,it shall destroy[you], even with a soredestruction.
11Ifa manwalkingin the spiritand falsehooddo lie,[saying], I will prophesyunto thee of wineand of strong drink;he shall even be the prophetof this people.
The Remnant of Israel
12I will surelyassemble,O Jacob,all of thee; I will surelygatherthe remnantof Israel;I will putthem togetheras the sheepof Bozrah,as the flockin the midstof their fold:they shall make great noiseby reason of [the multitude of] men.
13The breakeris come upbeforethem: they have broken up,and have passed throughthe gate,and are gone outby it: and their kingshall passbeforethem, and the LORDon the headof them.
