Jesus Heals a Paralytic

(Mark 2:1-12;Luke 5:17-26)

1Andhe enteredintoa ship,and passed over,andcameintohis owncity.

2And,behold,they broughtto hima man sick of the palsy,lyingona bed:andJesusseeingtheirfaithsaidunto the sick of the palsy;Son,be of good cheer;thysinsbe forgiventhee.3And,behold,certainof the scribessaidwithinthemselves,This[man] blasphemeth.4AndJesusknowingtheirthoughtssaid,Whereforethinkyeevilinyourhearts?5Forwhetheriseasier,to say,[Thy] sinsbe forgiventhee;orto say,Arise,andwalk?6Butthatye may knowthatthe Sonof manhathpoweronearthto forgivesins,(thensaith heto the sick of the palsy,) Arise,take upthybed,andgountothinehouse.7Andhe arose,and departedtohishouse.8Butwhen the multitudessaw[it], they marvelled,andglorifiedGod,whichhad givensuchpowerunto men.

9And asJesuspassed forthfrom thence,he sawa man,namedMatthew,sittingatthe receipt of custom:andhe saithunto him,Followme.Andhe arose,and followedhim.

10Andit came to pass,as Jesussat at meatinthe house,behold,manypublicansandsinnerscameand sat downwith himandhisdisciples.11Andwhen the Phariseessaw[it], they saidunto hisdisciples,WhyeatethyourMasterwithpublicansandsinners?12Butwhen Jesusheard[that], he saidunto them,They that bewholeneednota physician,butthey that aresick.13Butgo yeand learnwhat[that] meaneth,I willhave mercy,andnotsacrifice:forI amnotcometo callthe righteous,butsinnerstorepentance.

Jesus Questioned about Fasting

(Mark 2:18-20;Luke 5:33-35)

14Thencameto himthe disciplesof John,saying,Whydo weandthe Phariseesfastoft,butthydisciplesfastnot?15AndJesussaidunto them,Canthe childrenof the bridechambermourn,as long asthe bridegroomiswiththem?butthe dayswill come,whenthe bridegroomshall be takenfromthem,andthenshall they fast.

The Patches and Wineskins

16<1161> No manputtetha pieceof newclothuntoan oldgarment,forthat which is put in to fill it uptakethfromthe garment,andthe rentis madeworse.17Neitherdo men putnewwineintooldbottles:elsethe bottlesbreak,andthe winerunneth out,andthe bottlesperish:butthey putnewwineintonewbottles,andbothare preserved.

20And,behold,a woman,which was diseased with an issue of bloodtwelveyears,camebehind[him], and touchedthe hemof hisgarment:21Forshe saidwithinherself,IfI maybuttouchhisgarment,I shall be whole.22ButJesusturned him about,andwhen he sawher,he said,Daughter,be of good comfort;thyfaithhath madetheewhole.Andthe womanwas made wholefromthathour.

23Andwhen Jesuscameintothe ruler'shouse,andsawthe minstrelsandthe peoplemaking a noise,24He saidunto them,Give place:forthe maidisnotdead,butsleepeth.Andthey laughedhimto scorn.25Butwhenthe peoplewere put forth,he went in,and tookherby the hand,andthe maidarose.26Andthe famehereofwent abroadintoallthatland.

Jesus Heals Two Blind Men

27Andwhen Jesusdepartedthence,twoblind menfollowedhim,crying,andsaying,[Thou] Sonof David,have mercyon us.28Andwhen he was comeintothe house,the blind mencameto him:andJesussaithunto them,Believe yethatI am ableto dothis?They saidunto him,Yea,Lord.29Thentouched hetheireyes,saying,Accordingto yourfaithbe itunto you.30Andtheireyeswere opened;andJesusstraitly chargedthem,saying,See[that] no manknow[it].31Butthey, when they were departed,spread abroadhisfameinallthatcountry.

Jesus Heals a Mute Man

(Isaiah 35:1-10;Mark 7:31-37)

32Astheywent out,behold,they broughtto hima dumbmanpossessed with a devil.33Andwhen the devilwas cast out,the dumbspake:andthe multitudesmarvelled,saying,It was neversoseeninIsrael.34Butthe Phariseessaid,He casteth outdevilsthroughthe princeof the devils.

The Sheep and the Harvest

35AndJesuswent aboutallthe citiesandvillages,teachingintheirsynagogues,andpreachingthe gospelof the kingdom,andhealingeverysicknessandeverydiseaseamongthe people.

36Butwhen he sawthe multitudes,he was moved with compassiononthem,becausethey fainted,andwere scattered abroad,assheephavingnoshepherd.37Thensaithhe unto hisdisciples,The harvesttruly[is] plenteous,butthe labourers[are] few;38Pray yethereforethe Lordof the harvest,thathe will send forthlabourersintohisharvest.
