The First Offerings of Aaron
1And it came to pass on the eighthday,[that] MosescalledAaronand his sons,and the eldersof Israel;2And he saidunto Aaron,Takethee a youngcalffor a sin offering,and a ramfor a burnt offering,without blemish,and offer[them] beforethe LORD.3And unto the childrenof Israelthou shalt speak,saying,Takeye a kidof the goatsfor a sin offering;and a calfand a lamb,[both] of the firstyear,without blemish,for a burnt offering;4Also a bullockand a ramfor peace offerings,to sacrificebeforethe LORD;and a meat offeringmingledwith oil:for to daythe LORDwill appearunto you.5And they brought[that] which Mosescommandedbeforethe tabernacleof the congregation:and all the congregationdrew nearand stoodbeforethe LORD.6And Mosessaid,This [is] the thingwhich the LORDcommandedthat ye should do:and the gloryof the LORDshall appearunto you.7And Mosessaidunto Aaron,Gounto the altar,and offerthy sin offering,and thy burnt offering,and make an atonementfor thyself, and for the people:and offerthe offeringof the people,and make an atonementfor them; as the LORDcommanded.
The Sin Offering
(Leviticus 6:24-30)
8Aarontherefore wentunto the altar,and slewthe calfof the sin offering,which [was] for himself.9And the sonsof Aaronbroughtthe bloodunto him: and he dippedhis fingerin the blood,and put[it] upon the hornsof the altar,and pouredout the bloodat the bottomof the altar:10But the fat,and the kidneys,and the caulabovethe liverof the sin offering,he burntupon the altar;as the LORDcommandedMoses.11And the fleshand the hidehe burntwith firewithoutthe camp.
The Burnt Offering
(Leviticus 6:8-13)
12And he slewthe burnt offering;and Aaron'ssonspresentedunto him the blood,which he sprinkledround aboutupon the altar.13And they presentedthe burnt offeringunto him, with the piecesthereof, and the head:and he burnt[them] upon the altar.14And he did washthe inwardsand the legs,and burnt[them] upon the burnt offeringon the altar.
The Offerings for the People
15And he broughtthe people'soffering,and tookthe goat,which [was] the sin offeringfor the people,and slewit, and offered it for sin,as the first.16And he broughtthe burnt offering,and offeredit according to the manner.17And he broughtthe meat offering,and tookan handfulthereof, and burnt[it] upon the altar,besidethe burnt sacrificeof the morning.
18He slewalso the bullockand the ram[for] a sacrificeof peace offerings,which [was] for the people:and Aaron'ssonspresentedunto him the blood,which he sprinkledupon the altarround about,19And the fatof the bullockand of the ram,the rump,and that which covereth[the inwards], and the kidneys,and the caul[above] the liver:20And they putthe fatupon the breasts,and he burntthe fatupon the altar:21And the breastsand the rightshoulderAaronwaved[for] a wave offeringbeforethe LORD;as Mosescommanded.
22And Aaronlifted uphis handtoward the people,and blessedthem, and came downfrom offeringof the sin offering,and the burnt offering,and peace offerings.
Moses and Aaron Bless the People
23And Mosesand Aaronwentinto the tabernacleof the congregation,and came out,and blessedthe people:and the gloryof the LORDappearedunto all the people.24And there camea fireout from beforethe LORD,and consumedupon the altarthe burnt offeringand the fat:[which] when all the peoplesaw,they shouted,and fellon their faces.
