Laws for Sin Offerings
(Leviticus 5:1-13)
1And the LORDspakeunto Moses,saying,2Speakunto the childrenof Israel,saying,If a soulshall sinthrough ignoranceagainst any of the commandmentsof the LORD[concerning things] which ought not to be done,and shall doagainst anyof them:3If the priestthat is anointeddo sinaccording to the sinof the people;then let him bringfor his sin,which he hath sinned,a youngbullockwithout blemishunto the LORDfor a sin offering.4And he shall bringthe bullockunto the doorof the tabernacleof the congregationbeforethe LORD;and shall layhis handupon the bullock'shead,and killthe bullockbeforethe LORD.5And the priestthat is anointedshall takeof the bullock'sblood,and bringit to the tabernacleof the congregation:6And the priestshall diphis fingerin the blood,and sprinkleof the bloodseventimesbeforethe LORD,beforethe vailof the sanctuary.7And the priestshall put[some] of the bloodupon the hornsof the altarof sweetincensebeforethe LORD,which [is] in the tabernacleof the congregation;and shall pourall the bloodof the bullockat the bottomof the altarof the burnt offering,which [is at] the doorof the tabernacleof the congregation.8And he shall take offfrom it all the fatof the bullockfor the sin offering;the fatthat covereththe inwards,and all the fatthat [is] upon the inwards,9And the twokidneys,and the fatthat [is] upon them, which [is] by the flanks,and the caulabove the liver,with the kidneys,it shall he take away,10As it was taken offfrom the bullockof the sacrificeof peace offerings:and the priestshall burnthem upon the altarof the burnt offering.11And the skinof the bullock,and all his flesh,with his head,and with his legs,and his inwards,and his dung,12Even the whole bullockshall he carry forthwithoutthe campunto a cleanplace,where the ashesare poured out,and burnhim on the woodwith fire:wherethe ashesare poured outshall he be burnt.
13And if the whole congregationof Israelsin through ignorance,and the thingbe hidfrom the eyesof the assembly,and they have done[somewhat against] anyof the commandmentsof the LORD[concerning things] which should not be done,and are guilty;14When the sin,which they have sinnedagainst it, is known,then the congregationshall offera youngbullockfor the sin,and bringhim beforethe tabernacleof the congregation.15And the eldersof the congregationshall laytheir handsupon the headof the bullockbeforethe LORD:and the bullockshall be killedbeforethe LORD.16And the priestthat is anointedshall bringof the bullock'sbloodto the tabernacleof the congregation:17And the priestshall diphis finger[in some] of the blood,and sprinkle[it] seventimesbeforethe LORD,[even] beforethe vail.18And he shall put[some] of the bloodupon the hornsof the altarwhich [is] beforethe LORD,that [is] in the tabernacleof the congregation,and shall pour outall the bloodat the bottomof the altarof the burnt offering,which [is at] the doorof the tabernacleof the congregation.19And he shall takeall his fatfrom him, and burn[it] upon the altar.20And he shall dowith the bullockas he didwith the bullockfor a sin offering,so shall he dowith this: and the priestshall make an atonementfor them, and it shall be forgiventhem.21And he shall carry forththe bullockwithoutthe camp,and burnhim as he burnedthe firstbullock:it [is] a sin offeringfor the congregation.
22When a rulerhath sinned,and done[somewhat] through ignorance[against] anyof the commandmentsof the LORDhis God[concerning things] which should not be done,and is guilty;23Or if his sin,wherein he hath sinned,come to his knowledge;he shall bringhis offering,a kidof the goats,a malewithout blemish:24And he shall layhis handupon the headof the goat,and killit in the placewhere they killthe burnt offeringbeforethe LORD:it [is] a sin offering.25And the priestshall takeof the bloodof the sin offeringwith his finger,and put[it] upon the hornsof the altarof burnt offering,and shall pour outhis bloodat the bottomof the altarof burnt offering.26And he shall burnall his fatupon the altar,as the fatof the sacrificeof peace offerings:and the priestshall make an atonementfor him as concerning his sin,and it shall be forgivenhim.
27And if anyoneof the commonpeoplesinthrough ignorance,while he doeth[somewhat against] anyof the commandmentsof the LORD[concerning things] which ought not to be done,and be guilty;28Or if his sin,which he hath sinned,come to his knowledge:then he shall bringhis offering,a kidof the goats,a femalewithout blemish,for his sinwhich he hath sinned.29And he shall layhis handupon the headof the sin offering,and slaythe sin offeringin the placeof the burnt offering.30And the priestshall takeof the bloodthereof with his finger,and put[it] upon the hornsof the altarof burnt offering,and shall pour outall the bloodthereof at the bottomof the altar.31And he shall take awayall the fatthereof, as the fatis taken awayfrom off the sacrificeof peace offerings;and the priestshall burn[it] upon the altarfor a sweetsavourunto the LORD;and the priestshall make an atonementfor him, and it shall be forgivenhim.
32And if he bringa lambfor a sinoffering,he shall bringit a femalewithout blemish.33And he shall layhis handupon the headof the sin offering,and slayit for a sin offeringin the placewhere they killthe burnt offering.34And the priestshall takeof the bloodof the sin offeringwith his finger,and put[it] upon the hornsof the altarof burnt offering,and shall pour outall the bloodthereof at the bottomof the altar:35And he shall take awayall the fatthereof, as the fatof the lambis taken awayfrom the sacrificeof the peace offerings;and the priestshall burnthem upon the altar,according to the offerings made by fireunto the LORD:and the priestshall make an atonementfor his sinthat he hath committed,and it shall be forgivenhim.
