(1 Timothy 4:6-16) 1And the LORDsaidunto Moses,Speakunto the prieststhe sonsof Aaron,and sayunto them, There shall none be defiledfor the deadamong his people:2But for his kin,that is nearunto him, [that is], for his mother,and for his father,and for his son,and for his daughter,and for his brother,3And for his sistera virgin,that is nighunto him, which hath had no husband;for her may he be defiled.4[But] he shall not defilehimself, [being] a chief manamong his people,to profanehimself.5They shall not makebaldnessupon their head,neither shall they shave offthe cornerof their beard,nor makeany cuttingsin their flesh.6They shall be holyunto their God,and not profanethe nameof their God:for the offeringsof the LORDmade by fire,[and] the breadof their God,they do offer:therefore they shall be holy.7They shall not takea wife[that is] a whore,or profane;neither shall they takea womanput awayfrom her husband:for he [is] holyunto his God.8Thou shalt sanctifyhim therefore; for he offereththe breadof thy God:he shall be holyunto thee: for I the LORD,which sanctifyyou, [am] holy.9And the daughterof anypriest,if she profaneherself by playing the whore,she profanethher father:she shall be burntwith fire. 10And [he that is] the highpriestamong his brethren,upon whose headthe anointingoilwas poured,and that is consecratedto puton the garments,shall not uncoverhis head,nor rendhis clothes;11Neither shall he go into any deadbody,nor defilehimself for his father,or for his mother;12Neither shall he go outof the sanctuary,nor profanethe sanctuaryof his God;for the crownof the anointingoilof his God[is] upon him: I [am] the LORD.13And he shall takea wifein her virginity.14A widow,or a divorced woman,or profane,[or] an harlot,these shall he not take:but he shall takea virginof his own peopleto wife.15Neither shall he profanehis seedamong his people:for I the LORDdo sanctifyhim. 16And the LORDspakeunto Moses,saying,17Speakunto Aaron,saying,Whosoever[he be] of thy seedin their generationsthat hath [any] blemish,let him not approachto offerthe breadof his God. Restrictions against Those with Blemishes 18For whatsoever man[he be] that hath a blemish,he shall not approach:a blindman,or a lame,or he that hath a flat nose,or any thing superfluous,19Or a manthat is brokenfooted,or brokenhanded,20Or crookbackt,or a dwarf,or that hath a blemishin his eye,or be scurvy,or scabbed,or hath his stonesbroken;21No manthat hath a blemishof the seedof Aaronthe priestshall come nighto offerthe offeringsof the LORDmade by fire:he hath a blemish;he shall not come nighto offerthe breadof his God.22He shall eatthe breadof his God,[both] of the mostholy,and of the holy.23Only he shall not go inunto the vail,nor come nighunto the altar,because he hath a blemish;that he profanenot my sanctuaries:for I the LORDdo sanctifythem.24And Mosestold[it] unto Aaron,and to his sons,and unto all the childrenof Israel. |
