Idolatry Forbidden

(Exodus 20:22-23;1 Corinthians 10:14-22)

1And the LORDspakeunto Moses,saying,

2Speakunto all the congregationof the childrenof Israel,and sayunto them, Ye shall be holy:for I the LORDyour God[am] holy.3Ye shall fearevery manhis mother,and his father,and keepmy sabbaths:I [am] the LORDyour God.4Turnye not unto idols,nor maketo yourselves moltengods:I [am] the LORDyour God.

5And if ye offera sacrificeof peace offeringsunto the LORD,ye shall offerit at your own will.6It shall be eatenthe same dayye offerit, and on the morrow:and if ought remainuntil the thirdday,it shall be burntin the fire.7And if it be eatenat allon the thirdday,it [is] abominable;it shall not be accepted.8Therefore [every one] that eatethit shall bearhis iniquity,because he hath profanedthe hallowed thingof the LORD:and that soulshall be cut offfrom among his people.

Love Your Neighbor

(Romans 13:8-10)

9And when ye reapthe harvestof your land,thou shalt not wholly reapthe cornersof thy field,neither shalt thou gatherthe gleaningsof thy harvest.10And thou shalt not gleanthy vineyard,neither shalt thou gather[every] grapeof thy vineyard;thou shalt leavethem for the poorand stranger:I [am] the LORDyour God.

11Ye shall not steal,neither deal falsely,neither lieoneto another.12And ye shall not swearby my namefalsely,neither shalt thou profanethe nameof thy God:I [am] the LORD.

13Thou shalt not defraudthy neighbour,neither rob[him]: the wagesof him that is hiredshall not abidewith thee all night until the morning.14Thou shalt not cursethe deaf,nor puta stumblingblockbeforethe blind,but shalt fearthy God:I [am] the LORD.

15Ye shall dono unrighteousnessin judgment:thou shalt not respectthe personof the poor,nor honourthe personof the mighty:[but] in righteousnessshalt thou judgethy neighbour.16Thou shalt not goup and down [as] a talebeareramong thy people:neither shalt thou standagainst the bloodof thy neighbour:I [am] the LORD.

17Thou shalt not hatethy brotherin thine heart:thou shalt in any wiserebukethy neighbour,and not suffersinupon him.18Thou shalt not avenge,nor bear any grudgeagainst the childrenof thy people,but thou shalt lovethy neighbouras thyself:I [am] the LORD.

Keep My Decrees

19Ye shall keepmy statutes.Thou shalt not let thy cattlegenderwith a diverse kind:thou shalt not sowthy fieldwith mingled seed:neither shall a garmentmingledof linen and woollencomeupon thee.

20And whosoeverliethcarnallywith a woman,that [is] a bondmaid,betrothedto an husband,and not at allredeemed,nor freedomgivenher; she shall be scourged;they shall not be put to death,because she was not free.21And he shall bringhis trespass offeringunto the LORD,unto the doorof the tabernacleof the congregation,[even] a ramfor a trespass offering.22And the priestshall make an atonementfor him with the ramof the trespass offeringbeforethe LORDfor his sinwhich he hath done:and the sinwhich he hath doneshall be forgivenhim.

23And when ye shall comeinto the land,and shall have plantedall manner of treesfor food,then ye shall countthe fruitthereof as uncircumcised:threeyearsshall it be as uncircumcisedunto you: it shall not be eatenof.24But in the fourthyearall the fruitthereof shall be holyto praisethe LORD[withal].25And in the fifthyearshall ye eatof the fruitthereof, that it may yieldunto you the increasethereof: I [am] the LORDyour God.

26Ye shall not eat[any thing] with the blood:neither shall ye use enchantment,nor observe times.27Ye shall not roundthe cornersof your heads,neither shalt thou marthe cornersof thy beard.28Ye shall not makeanycuttingsin your fleshfor the dead,nor printany marksupon you: I [am] the LORD.

29Do not prostitutethy daughter,to cause her to be a whore;lest the landfall to whoredom,and the landbecome fullof wickedness.30Ye shall keepmy sabbaths,and reverencemy sanctuary:I [am] the LORD.

31Regardnot them that have familiar spirits,neither seekafter wizards,to be defiledby them: I [am] the LORDyour God.

32Thou shalt rise upbeforethe hoary head,and honourthe faceof the old man,and fearthy God:I [am] the LORD.

33And if a strangersojournwith thee in your land,ye shall not vexhim.34[But] the strangerthat dwellethwith you shall be unto you as one bornamong you, and thou shalt lovehim as thyself; for ye were strangersin the landof Egypt:I [am] the LORDyour God.

35Ye shall dono unrighteousnessin judgment,in meteyard,in weight,or in measure.36Justbalances,justweights,a justephah,and a justhin,shall ye have: I [am] the LORDyour God,which brought you outof the landof Egypt.37Therefore shall ye observeall my statutes,and all my judgments,and dothem: I [am] the LORD.
